Canadian Grain Elevator Discovery Centre — Attraction in Town of Nanton

Come see the almost vanished prairie sentinel, the grain elevator. Instead of a lightkeeper, these grain keepers fed Canada and the world. Your one hour tour takes you around the receiving and shipping areas as you get a flavour of what it took to run an elevator. Donation of $20 for the tour, to help preserve the elevators and establish the future museum....

Stopped in for a quick visit and was pleasantly surprised. The Canadian Grain Elevator is a beautiful piece of history and well worth seeing. Even in a short amount of time, you really get a sense of its importance and the role it played in prairie life. A great stop if you’re passing through.
