Horrible. My husband and I were stopping in from out of town and had to get our car fixed. we walked in thirty degree heat for quite a while to get to it and once we sat down to the empty cafe we needed a few minutes to calibrate and decide what we wanted to do and how much food we wanted to order. The older gentleman came and asked what we wanted three times within under five minutes and on the third time he said we were taking up table space (only one customer) and basically said to eat or get out even though we just needed a minute to figure out what we were doing and whether we wanted a lot of a little. My husband was on the phone with the car shop while this interaction occured he had no respect to at least wait till he was off the phone. He made such a disgusted face when I said we needed another minute and said we couldn't sit in cafe without ordering. As someone who works in the customer service industry, I was appalled. I'm not a cranky Karen and I'm not rude but I thanked him for his "customer service" and we walked out. On a side note, the menu was incredibly small and high priced, I saw the $20 sandwiches that he served to the table and the bread didn't even look toasted. Their was no washroom other than across the parking lot as well. If your passing...
Read moreStopped in here for a quick lunch and was so disappointed with the service and food. As a trained French / Italian Chef myself I expected a delicious Italian meal. From the moment I walked in I was rushed. I was given 1 minute with the menu didn’t see anything I wanted so I looked at the special board and saw Chicken Parmigiana with Spaghetti for $23. I ordered that and thought I would get a beautiful pounded out crispy breaded chicken cutlet with Real parmigiano reggiano with a nice red sauce and spaghetti cooked al dente. What I actually got was a soggy, no more then 5oz piece of chicken breast that must have been boiled in the sauce with some mozzarella on top and overcooked spaghetti floating in a watery tomato sauce. I would have been nice if they brought out a piece of garlic bread to sop up the watery sauce with. It was like they didn’t care about what they served. I didn’t want to make a scene over it so I ate what I could and paid 30$ with tip for one of the worst Italian meals I have ever had. Somebody had mentioned that the owner was a trained Italian chef. I find that impossible with the food that was served. I will never go back and will not recommend to anyone that passed through. I should have just gone to sweet queen and got a...
Read moreSo dang good! We ordered a pepperoni pizza, as well as chicken and beef pot pies and lasagna to go. If you want legitimate pepperoni on your pizza - go here. None of that lil, thin stuff - this is the real deal!
I felt oddly protective of the older Italian gentleman running the place - so sweet and kind and best of all, he makes great food! It’s been difficult for them not having customers in the restaurant (due to COVID closures) but they’re doing their best by offering takeout and household items. The lasagna was made fresh that morning and it was a delicious dinner, even after reheating. Lastly, the meat pies were the best we’ve ever had!
