Katy's Cove Beach — Attraction in Town of Saint Andrews

Katy's cove is a lovely quiet cove about 6 minutes drive from downtown. It has a sand beach area, changing rooms, washrooms, and a playground for little ones. There are no lifeguards so parents need to be watching. There are no other amenities so bring your own food. Dogs are allowed on the far side of the playground area, but if your pooch is tied up and you keep the area clean I can't see anyone minding. There are a few picnic tables too. There were Porta potties but no change rooms or other amenities. The water is warm and calm, which unfortunately is also great for algae and seaweed and we left the water with a noticable slimy residue. The water is also not very clear, you cannot see the bottom. Beach area is in need of refurbishment, and we got several red ant bites while sitting at a picnic table...

Great beach with the sand separated from the water so you don't have to worry about low or high tide. Water is not too rough. I like the abundance of benches and chairs. They have washrooms and change rooms. AND THE BEST PART IS THE SHOWERS ARE WARM WATER. The only downside is its gravol parking with some gravol roads to get to it. Still its a lovely...
