We were very intrigued by this home, its history and place in the community now and in the future. We were very impressed by the personalized, custom tour provided and left after having stayed for about two hours and 200 questions disappointed that we could not purchase a book that tells the story of the house and its former occupants. I don’t collect tshirts or keychains on my travels, I like to bring home a book that will not only recap what I learned during my visit but will help me learn even more details there just wasn’t enough time to cover. I would have also loved if there were postcards, note cards or small pictures of the lovely artwork enjoyed throughout the house. There is so much this property has to offer and that would be of interest to so many … from the many stories, use of space, collection of toys, the incredible paintings, the cars outside, the landscaping (what it once was, and what it is now today), the construction and additions to this home… and so much more. But… without the ability to take pictures inside the home and share them on social media I feel it is a missed opportunity. It’s a missed opportunity for the owner and the public. So many people could come and enjoy this property but instead it is like a well kept secret. I do hope one day soon there will be a book published to tell the story of this grand home… and when there is I...
Read moreThis is our second time visiting this museum for my husband and I and it is always well worth the visit. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant as she also helps Mr. Vincent Prager to research his extensive family history in great depth. You can choose to do a self guided tour or have a guide bring you around and explain the history of the home and family. We chose going around with the guide and then redoing the visit on our own to quietly read all the plaques, letters, etc. on the walls. This family has such an interesting history and have rubbed elbows with so many wonderful and well-known figures that seeing all the letters and admiring all the paintings from the two well-know painters in the family is wonderful. On this last visit, we were able to meet Mr. Vincent Prager himself who is the grandson of Mr. Oppenheimer, a world renown artist and the son of Eva Prager, daughter of Mr. Oppenheimer and another well-known artist in her own right. What an absolute treat that was to be able to talk to Mr. Prager in person and learn even more about his great family. This museum is definitely worth the visit and there will be even more to see soon as they have plans to open the second story in a...

My wife and I visited on Friday and were pleasantly surprised. We didn't do much research beforehand and thought it was closed initially. However, we went along the fence posts and arrived to the main entrance which is at the back of the house.
We met the owner and their gentle dog and were pleased to have a personal guided tour as well. This made the experience as it was detailed enough for you to then walk around again everywhere and really take in the perfectly preserved collections of toys and art and immaculate architecture and classic cars straight out of a 1960s movie set in the countryside somewhere in the UK.
You can even head out the front of the house and are treated to even more to see. A variety of plants, ponds, a greenhouse another building and the namesakes grave which was a beautifully manicured remembrance of a family with an incredible life and world of knowledge.
The upstairs will be a pleasant addition adding even more to this already packed stroll around...
