Service was excellent, atmosphere decent, but a little underwhelmed by the food. My server Eli was friendly and helpful. The food came out really quick. I ordered the mushroom ravioli, their only vegetarian main, and it tasted absolutely delicious. However I was disappointed in the portion size. It was about a third of what I’d expect for a pasta dish. For dessert I had the pumpkin pie. While it tasted quite good, it was evident that it was just a prepackaged defrosted mini pie. Not really a problem for me, just an observation. It was garnished well with a crunchy pumpkin seed topping and whipped cream, and the glaze was delicious - and honestly the dessert was tasty - however the pie wasn’t warmed up. This threw me off - cold pumpkin pie is just a little bizzare lol! If I ate there again (Eg if a group I was with wanted to go there), I’d order the same dishes.

The pub is in the basement of the Algonquin, and it is by no means a basement establishment. The food was exquisite, the dessert decadent and the service superb. Highly recommend this place. Small, specific menu with lots of punch. Will definitely be coming back!

A great new restaurant at the Algonquin Hotel! Had a great meal with my family. We were able to “create our own” gin and tonic, choosing from several different types of gins and different tonic waters.

We stayed at the resort and the Right Whale Pub was our last night's dinner. It's open Thursday-Sunday (during the time we were in St. Andrew's, at least). First off, for a small seaside town there are a ton of things to do in St. Andrew's. Second, The Algonquin is truly a wonderful place to stay. What made the stay special, though, was the experience at the Right Whale Pub. The food was high end pub food. I had a tomato-haloumi-pesto-arugula salad, my wife a grilled fresh Atlantic salmon alfredo linguine. Traditional favourites available, too! But the service on the night we were in was exceptional. The entire staff was friendly, engaging, pleasant and considerate. Our server was amazing from start to finish. Just as an example, he got down to our seated level to talk with our children face-to-face. If you're looking for a fantastic meal, great service and exceptional value at a high end hotel, or heck, just a nice casual night out, look no further. There are no wrong turns at the...

Went for our birthdays, were met with complimentary Prosecco and a lovely waitress. Had the best mussels of my life in the red Thai coconut mussels. After our meal we moved to the bar and were served by one of the most personable and professional bartenders I’ve met to date. Bryan was amazing and really made you feel like you were at your local pub sitting down for a drink with an old friend, be sure to ask him about his vodka infusions and his cocktail recommendations...
