This is a quaint little museum located out in the valley. It's located in the airport complex of a small airport where single engine planes frequent. The museum itself is comprised of two main outbuildings one of which houses the office and gift shop and then the main old building which houses the majority of the displays. There is also a good sized lot in between the two buildings which houses full size planes in various states SUV dissection outlining a real history of Canadian flight. There's an actual snow bird jet plane here as well as Canadian jet fighters and early Canadian firefighting and transport playing this. Generally, the descriptions with the planes themselves is well done and explains a lot of history and context. When you enter the outbuilding itself it's jam packed with tons of things to look at. Lots of plane parts engines, guns, wings, parts, clothes, videos, tools, etc. Wherever you look there's something new. Whether that's at the ceiling with the things hanging down or on the floor where there's displays and whole planes or on the walls where there's lots of plaques and pictures and other Canadian flight nostalghia. Certainly the history represented by the museum goes back deep into the 1900s. The walkabout is organized via a timeline in a way going from oldest to newest. Towards the back of the hall you can actually exit the building and have a look at the taxiway and runway of the airport itself to watch planes landing and taking off. As you circle way back through the walkabouts you exit once again and re enter the gift shop. The gift shop itself has a lot of custom T shirts and other underwear. There is some pins and books and postcards as well as toys all related to flight. The admission cost to enter the museum is low and they are observing all covert protocols. This is our second time here and the kids always have a good time looking at everything even though the planes are old there is always something interesting to have a look at. I think value for money is very good. I think the museum is an important conservator of various aspects of Canadian flight. It's showing his age in many ways however I'm not aware of other Canadian flight museums in the region. A great place to bring a airplane or flight enthusiest especially if they are interested in Canadian history of the same or those with young families and kids who are interested in airplanes....

Read moreA hidden gem worth visiting! The Canadian Museum of Flight in Langley is small but packed with aviation history. We spent about an hour and a half exploring both indoor and outdoor exhibits, and it was surprisingly hands-on. The staff and volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable, sharing interesting stories behind the aircraft.
It was great to get up close to real planes, including some from World War II. Seeing these vintage machines in person, rather than behind ropes or glass, made the experience feel more authentic. The outdoor area had several aircraft you could actually touch, and the indoor displays featured a lot of historical photos and artifacts.
It’s not a large museum, but it’s well-curated and full of charm. Perfect for history lovers or anyone curious about aviation. Admission was affordable, and we felt it was time and money well spent. Definitely recommend if you're in the Langley area or looking for something...
