I recently went on the Lighthouse Trail, which is part of the Wild Pacific Trail, and I must say it was an amazing experience. The hike began with a beautiful walk through the rainforest, which provided some great views of the coast.

One of the best things about the Lighthouse Trail is that there are so many different viewing spots along the way. At each stop, I was treated to stunning views of the surrounding nature, and I was really impressed by the stunning scenery all around.

Furthermore, the local flora and fauna are well-preserved, and there are many signs providing useful information about the plants and animals inhabiting the area. It was really interesting to learn more about the local ecosystem and the diverse range of creatures that call this place home.

The trail takes about 90 minutes to complete, with the highlight being the lighthouse situated in the middle of the hike. While you can't actually access the lighthouse, you can still appreciate it from a distance and admire its beauty.

Overall, I highly recommend the Lighthouse Trail for anyone looking for a beautiful hike in nature. The combination of forests and sea is absolutely perfect. So, if you're in the area, be sure to give this trail a try - you won't be...

Amphitrite Point Lighthouse: Scenic Stop with a Storied Past

The Amphitrite Point Lighthouse is a must-see for anyone visiting Ucluelet. While you can't climb the tower itself, the easy walking trail offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and the Barkley Sound.

Here's a quick rundown of what to expect:

Easy access: Located just off the coast guard road, with ample parking and a well-maintained trail. Panoramic views: Breathtaking vistas of the ocean, especially on clear days. You might even hear the haunting cry of the fog horn in foggy weather. Historical significance: Built in 1915, the lighthouse is a piece of Ucluelet's history, guiding ships through treacherous waters. Limited access: The lighthouse tower is closed to the public, but there are plenty of viewpoints to get great photos.

Keep in mind that there's currently construction underway for a new viewing platform, which should enhance the visitor experience in the future.

Overall, the Amphitrite Point Lighthouse is a scenic and historic landmark perfect for a short and...

Perfect starting point for the Wild Pacific Trail! This lighthouse serves as an excellent trailhead for exploring the Wild Pacific Trail. While you can’t enter the lighthouse itself, the vista at the intersection of the trail and lighthouse is absolutely marvelous and worth the visit alone. We were there in July with perfect hiking weather. From the lighthouse, it’s about a 200-meter walk to another spectacular vista facing west - we were lucky enough to spot a whale from this viewpoint! I can see why people come here at sunset to watch the sun go down behind the trees - it must be stunning. Continue another 500 meters or so along the trail and you’ll reach a charming small rocky beach and ocean inlet, adding even more variety to the experience. The combination of the historic lighthouse, multiple scenic viewpoints, and easy trail access makes this a must-visit spot. Whether you’re looking for a short walk to take in the views or want to explore more of the trail system, this is a fantastic starting point. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to experience the Wild...
