I’ve grown up in this city but it’s become a disgrace and a shame, with particular shame for City Hall Staff.

Do you have a messed up downtown Victoria story too? Sharing that I am boycotting downtown Victoria. I was in a parkade in the dark by myself, turned the corner to find myself within a meter of a man with a foot long dagger held straight up in the air. Ran away and found Security but they didn’t confiscate his weapon. Witnessed a bike being stolen and had to turn and hide because the man noticed me noticing him and I was afraid he’d come after me. My female friend was chased and threatened for blocks by a man having a meltdown. When I called about a parking ticket review and explained I always pay for parking (and tickets) the “service” rep suggested I must’ve been lying and cut me off. Was very rude and unprofessional. I’ve found needles in the parks and even saw a man with his lower half exposed and doing things to himself across from South Park elementary school. I’ve had enough. My thoughts with the business owners but I can’t go...

Victoria City Hall is the city hall for Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It is located at the corner of Douglas Street and Pandora Avenue adjacent to the CTV Vancouver Island studios and the McPherson Playhouse in downtown Victoria. It is home to the Victoria City Council. It was completed in 1890. Victoria's first city hall was designed in 1875. The building was begun three years later and completed in 1890. The designer was John Teague, an Englishman long resident in Victoria, who was responsible for planning many of the city's early buildings. His city hall was conceived in the Second Empire style popular at the time with a typical mansard roof, tower and rich ornamentation. The building remains one of the best surviving examples of this style in...

Keep your parking receipt for the Shady "Parking Ambassador" I visited Victoria for the first time (and will be the last time) and paid for 1 hour parking at 12:41 PM on July 3rd, 2019. We got back to the car and found a parking ticket timed at 12:43 PM. Fortunately, we kept our receipt and contested the ticket. They canceled the ticket but offered no apology for the inconvenience of contesting the ticket. I never thought Victoria is cash trapped and had to resort to such shady method of raising funds. Had they asked nicely of their American visitors, we would have gladly donated to the Victoria city that 20 CANADIAN DOLLARS or even...
