Victoria Bug Zoo is an incredible spot for kids and families. It offers a unique, hands-on learning experience where kids can spend at least two hours fully immersed in the fascinating world of insects and other small creatures. One of the highlights of the visit is the guided tour, which I highly recommend. The tour is interactive, and the guides are knowledgeable and engaging, providing detailed information about each species. What makes the experience even more exciting is the opportunity to touch and hold some of the bugs, which creates a memorable live experience for both kids and adults.
Despite its small size, the zoo packs a lot of information and fun into a compact space, making it easy to explore without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. It’s also reasonably priced, making it accessible for families looking for an affordable, educational outing. The exhibits are well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.

Read moreThe Victoria Bug Zoo is the best non-corporate hobby turned successful tourist activity I have had the privilege to come across in a long time. I highly recommend those who like and those who hate bugs take the opportunity to get up close to an amazing collection of exotic bugs without having to feel threatened by them.
First, everyone is super friendly and wants to be there. It takes a certain type of person who WANTS to work around bugs and kids all day long.
Second, it is obvious this was a hobby turned passion project that has taken on a life of its own. I saw kids and adults of all ages memorized by the insects they were looking at.
I loved the tree cutter ant hive that is embedding in the wall and connected through a series of clear tubes and boxes. It's fascinating to watch the hive work just like it would in the rainforest, just relocated for your viewing pleasure.
From spiders to roaches, stick bugs, praying mantis, and so many things I had never seen or heard of, it was quite the adventure.
Amazing activity for families with kids. If you have ever flipped over a rock and thought what you saw was a good time, this...
Read moreHad a fantastic time at the Bug Zoo with my two toddlers and tween aged nieces. My 4 year old is super into bugs so he had an amazing time looking at everything, asking questions and asking to see them up close. The staff are so kind and knowledgeable, you can ask them to take bugs out to see close up and they talk about the bugs. If you have Gabriella, you’re in for a treat because she was so great and knew so so much!
Some covid things. You can’t touch the bugs although the keepers can take them out for a closer look. There are two areas, and once you cross into one area, you can’t go back. Also once you go through the zoo you can’t go back to see the exhibits in the first area. This was hard for my toddlers to understand but made sense for them to watch the number of people inside. Wished we could have gone through it a second time since the kids were excited to see it all the first go around.
Excellent experience and would...
