Victoria Bug Zoo is an incredible spot for kids and families. It offers a unique, hands-on learning experience where kids can spend at least two hours fully immersed in the fascinating world of insects and other small creatures. One of the highlights of the visit is the guided tour, which I highly recommend. The tour is interactive, and the guides are knowledgeable and engaging, providing detailed information about each species. What makes the experience even more exciting is the opportunity to touch and hold some of the bugs, which creates a memorable live experience for both kids and adults. Despite its small size, the zoo packs a lot of information and fun into a compact space, making it easy to explore without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. It’s also reasonably priced, making it accessible for families looking for an affordable, educational outing. The exhibits are well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Whether your kids are already fascinated by bugs or need a little encouragement to explore the insect world, Victoria Bug Zoo is a perfect destination. It combines education with adventure, ensuring that visitors of all ages leave with a deeper appreciation for the creatures that share our planet.

Had a fantastic time at the Bug Zoo with my two toddlers and tween aged nieces. My 4 year old is super into bugs so he had an amazing time looking at everything, asking questions and asking to see them up close. The staff are so kind and knowledgeable, you can ask them to take bugs out to see close up and they talk about the bugs. If you have Gabriella, you’re in for a treat because she was so great and knew so so much! Some covid things. You can’t touch the bugs although the keepers can take them out for a closer look. There are two areas, and once you cross into one area, you can’t go back. Also once you go through the zoo you can’t go back to see the exhibits in the first area. This was hard for my toddlers to understand but made sense for them to watch the number of people inside. Wished we could have gone through it a second time since the kids were excited to see it all the first go around. Excellent experience and would definitely come back!

The Victoria Bug Zoo is a hidden treasure and a must-see for anyone looking to add a little adventure to their trip! This unique little zoo is home to an impressive collection of insects, arachnids, and other creepy-crawlies from around the world, and it was both fascinating and surprisingly fun. The staff here are incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what they do, sharing fun facts and making everyone feel comfortable—even those of us who were a little nervous about bugs at first! The zoo offers guided tours, which are a great way to learn about each creature and see them up close. We even had the chance to hold a few insects—an experience we’ll never forget! The Victoria Bug Zoo is a unique, educational, and fun experience that’s well worth a visit. Highly recommended for families, curious minds, and anyone looking to learn a little something new!

The staff here are so knowledgeable and friendly. This morning Grey was our guide and they had so much info and enthusiasm for the bugs (even without their morning coffee!!) There are a lot of really interesting critters in the zoo however you’ll have the best experience if you listen to the guide because there isn’t a ton of posted info about the displays to read. Holding the bugs is always a fun experience; I would recommend this place mainly to adults and families with older children who are able to listen to instructions and wait their turn because the bugs do have to be handled cautiously. I always make time for the bug zoo whenever I’m in the city. Also the quality of the gift shop has really improved since I started coming in 2017/2018. Also maybe important to note that masks are still required for the first hour they are open but optional after that.
