Warning! This is not a review based on my own preference of how their wine tastes! You would have to visit it to find out what you prefer 🙂
It was a spur of the moment so we didn't really have any fancy clothings on like our usual whenever we visit and do any tastings. Upon arriving, we read the sign stating the price of the tasting and on the barrel was a coiled notebook and taped/stapled to the front of the barrel was a sign telling us to stop and that we have to do a screening process due to COVID-19, so we did as we do our best on our own to prevent the spread. Then a friendly young lady comes out asked what she can help us with (wine tasting), proceeded to take my information, took the fee I paid in cash and proceeded to show us where to go after telling us they have sanitizer by the front window. What happened to the screening??? Not even taking the temperature, but we did continue with the wine and icewine tasting, can't go wrong with the icewine but the regular wine could improve a bit..or it could be how they were doing the tasting. I used the same wineglass the whole time (except when they do the icewine) so that could be the reason why I tasted the smokey taste from the Pinot rosé to the rest but you can definitely smell it from the white wines.
When they bagged the wine, they didn't even wrap it with anything to protect the bottles. Also, the guy that bagged and took our payment is lacking some enthusiasm with his work. Considering we purchased well over the 2 bottles they said the minimum to refund the $5 tasting fee, which by the way they didn't (lol). The icewines only came in 50ml bottle, wish they had the option of a bigger bottle and since they don't wrap it when they bagged it, we sounded like alcoholics walking out of there with all the clanking of the bottles (hahah). Overall, just need some...
Read moreWe loved this spot!! Our server, Natasha, was very welcoming and kind. She gave us lots of interesting facts about each wine we tasted! There was another man with whom we talked alot. I’ve forgotten his name🥲but he was also very nice!
The wine itself was very very tasty! Most of the white wine options were on the dry side but they tasted very good! My personal fave was the Pinot Gris. It was so smooth to drink.
Another lovely feature of this spot was the beautiful view of the vineyard from the patio and the possibility to walk around the grape vines and enjoy the fantastic scenery!
Totally loved this experience and will definitely come back next time I’m in Kelowna!
UPDATE: okay! This place and these beautiful people need another review!! I left a review for this spot a few weeks ago (as you can see above this update), and a few hours after visiting Little Straw, I realized I had left my jacket there. The next morning, I went back and me and Keith -the gentleman whom I could not remember his name while writing the initial review- looked for it everywhere and could not find the jacket. We were also about to hit the road driving to our next stop. A couple hours after, Keith called me saying they have found my jacket. But we were too far to go back and pick it up. So they decided to send my jacket back to me - literally ACROSS Canada- eventhough I insisted it was not necessary cause it’s an old jacket. but Keith sent it anyways🥹 I just received my jacket and wanted to share this story cause I’m very very happy to have met wonderful people like Keith and Natasha!! Little Straw is more than a Vineyard with awesome wine, it’s a place run by kind,...

From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with a bright and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. In a region that has faced challenges recently with the devastating fires, it's good to see that Little Straw Vineyards remains open and unaffected. It's commendable that they support the local firefighters by donating proceeds from their sales while informing guests of the issues facing the community. This act of generosity speaks volumes about their dedication to their community and their desire to give back.
In sum, a visit to Little Straw Vineyards is an experience filled with unique wines, warm hospitality, and a sense of community spirit that's hard to find elsewhere. I can't recommend this winery enough, and I'm eager to return for another memorable...
