After booking a reservation for 7 people at the restaurant after our wedding ceremony, we arrived to our booking and then we’re told we would have to be sat at separate tables due to restrictions. British Columbia is no longer mandating restaurants to cap tables at a maximum of 6 guests, this change happened on July 1st and it is now July 25th. We understood that this could be their personal policy and we accepted that, apologized to them for cancelling and were on our way out to find somewhere else . As we were walking out we had two members staff continue to follow and tell us that these are the restrictions everywhere and we should have known before booking… although they accepted our booking and did not mention this. The man on the patio was pretty rude, no apology just made excuses. The female staff member did apologize but also again told us we should have known… very poor customer service. I wouldn’t mind if what they were explaining to us were the correct restrictions, however they weren’t and should not blame customers for not knowing their policies. That should have been explained to us at the...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I made this place our first stop. We sampled with a bartender named Christian and purchased a bottle of wine. We were gone for an hour or so and we were headed back home going towards Volcanic Hill's direction. We were going to just meet up with a family member and she happened to pull into the parking lot and wanted to sample their wine. So we went in with her and sampled the other wines that we haven't tried NOT knowing that it was illegal because there was no signage anywhere stating that. We were being served by someone else and Christian dropped what he was doing with other guests doing samples to tell us that we weren't allowed to do be served twice in a day... which is understandable. So my boyfriend and I stopped at sample 2 out of 4. What we didn't appreciate was the fact that he said it in front of all the other people doing samples, was rude about it and embarrassed us in front of everybody. Not impressed with any of this. Spent money on a bottle of wine which we still took home and drank. But it now leaves a bitter memory for us and wish we didn't spend any money...
Read moreMy mother in law booked a sparkling wine sabring session to celebrate my birthday at Volcanic Hills Winery on August 7th and we had an amazing time!!!!! Amit the proprietor hosted the session and his warm and fun hospitality added so much more to our amazing experience that day. The sabring session was informative and unexpectedly entertaining!!! Amit also shared his family history in the Okanagan Valley and made the session personal and educational! After our group enjoyed the rose sparkling wine at the vineyard after the sabring session, Amit generously invited our group to the tasting room where we began another informative, fun, professional wine tasting session with Brenda. From the beautifully appointed furniture to Brenda’s selections of wines for tasting, this unexpected wine tasting completed our awesome experience at Volcanic Hills Winery! Brenda’s fun and tentative service was enjoyed by all! I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday celebration. The gift and wine shop were equally stellar. I would love to re-visit and recommend Volcanic Hills Winery to all my...
