Wedding vendor review.
My husband and I ended up hosting our wedding at the new aviation museum back in May. Long story short, our original wedding venue flooded and we were desperate to find another venue last minute.
After a desperate phone call/voicemail the Monday before our wedding, Stephanie DeLong (the rental and event specialist at the museum) called me back and said that we could have our wedding there the following Saturday, even though it was their grand opening weekend.
Stephanie was absolutely FANTASTIC to work with. She is incredibly pleasant and professional. She knew exactly how our wedding should be done, and took the time to walk us through the whole thing over a zoom call on the Tuesday, with an in person tour on the Wednesday. Keep in mind this was the museums grand Opening week, and they were having events every day.
Stephanie and her team were so incredible and helpful, and went out of their way to make this wedding happen on such short notice.
The venue speaks for itself. Modern, interesting, beautiful, you name it. They have a gorgeous area upstairs where we had our ceremony. This area of the museum has these very cool aurora borealis lights, which lit up the area perfectly at night for the dancing portion of the evening. The venue has all the furniture there that you would need for any standard wedding, and there is separate room right next door to the ceremony area to host the reception. Both areas overlook the Museum and the planes. My husband and I were able to walk though the museum and take photos with the planes which was a nice plus. There’s a parking lot right next door to the museum for all of your guests to park, and the location itself is central and very easy to get too.
To recap, Stephanie and the team there were just absolutely amazing and accommodating, and worked tirelessly to make sure our wedding day was amazing. We can not recommend them enough, we are very happy that we ended up having our wedding here, and anyone else would be lucky to have their wedding...
Read moreThis place is fabulous 👌 Spent 2 hours on a Sunday from 11:00 to 1:00 here. No crowds, a very large group of seniors was coming in as we left, I think you can get guided tours. I hadn't been since I was a kid at the old location. I'm a little disappointed as I don't think they have as many aircrafts on show as they used to, but that's ok. I brought my 4 & 6 year old and as soon as we walked in the lady at the front told us about the play place and suggested we wait to do that last as we would never get our kids out of it to see the museum. The play place is tucked away but still great and very helpful information!! They have a place to hang jackets and even small free lockers. We started by going left on the main floor, into the main museum with all the aircrafts. So many hands on stuff for the kids to touch and play with, they loved it. Big wide walkways so you dont feel like your intruding on other people space. Then we went upstairs, less excitement up there. There is a big window to see planes coming in, but we never saw any. Then headed back down to the play place, which of cours, the kids loved. It's listed for ages 5 to 12, but my 4 year old was just fine, I think 12 might be a little old for this. They have a large bench to sit and watch the kids. They also have about 5 tables to sit and eat a packed lunch. They have a snack bar that honestly could use some work, don't count on it for much. Only bbq chips, goldfish crackers, rice crispy squares, chocolate bars, and drinks (but nothing diet). And a great gift shop on the way out. Honestly, over all, we had a blast! Will for sure go back,...
Read moreHeavens on Earth 🌎 for those who loves study Aerodynamics Engineering and little bit of History of WW I - II . The marvelous design of this museum gives you ample space for a two storey building and a large hanger in front to explore the aircraft variety of early 70 - '80s time models. The fascinating journey of aircraft evolution is very much in detail to learn from their documentary room on the ground floor.
Online advance booking should be your preference to avoid long wait time.
If carrying luggage cause obviously it's located just in front of the airport access so check in with the front desk to acquire a key-coin lock for your luggage to place. (I personally love 💕 their unique locking system).
If visiting with kids, don't forget to check their Snoopy special room. Your kids will love it and also the game zone next to the cafeteria.
Toddlers are allowed to sit in model helicopters and private seaplanes with guided instructors on the 2nd floor.
Adults can visit their ground model of Air Canada planes from the early era which definitely feels like time travel in the past to me.
Hands on experience at the wall of engineering to touch and feel the buttons, rims and lots more.
