My flight was delayed so I decided to grab a comfy seat at PBistro and have breakfast. Read the menu posted at the host stand, which says Seat Yourself, and found a seat. Waited 5-6 minutes, 2 servers were walking around refilling coffees but didn’t appear to see me. I ended up walking over to say hello and ask for someone to come over for an order. Honestly just because I was sitting in one of the lower comfy chairs and thought maybe they hadn’t seen me. She came right over, to take my order but unfortunately 2 of the items on the front menu were unavailable and I have a limited diet. (FTR it was the Banana oatmeal, and the brekky scramble) So I asked just for a black coffee, she suggested the brekky sandwich and when I said I unfortunately don’t eat bread she literally laughed and shook her head at me.. Then asked “so you want something or no?” and I again asked for a coffee. She said their coffee is $5 and suggested I to go to Starbucks. Not exaggerating.. that’s what she said! I told her the price was fine because they have free refills and I had time to kill. She left, and 10 minutes later had not returned. I left, and had a delicious breakfast bowl and a coffee at Freshii, which conveniently was at my gate anyway. I will continue to hit up PBistro if I have evening flights because their wine selection is decent and the bartenders pour a good glass. But no more brekky attempts...
Read moreI travel a lot across Canada, and because of this, I have seen every iteration of app used to order and I don't mind digital menus at all. I also have eaten here a few dozen times as I traveled through Winnipeg.
This app/website experience was confusing, predatory, prone to tech problems (mine crashed or got error messages no less than six times while trying to order or close out the bill. It is a shady process that I did not feel comfortable putting my credit card into, nor my phone number, postal code and email, which I'm sure is not personal data that it harvests.
My two colleagues and myself had such a miserable time with that experience that I explained to the staff, who also seemed to be struggling with the app, with food going to wrong tables and orders not coming up together, and constantly coaching people through the IT issues, that I would no longer dine there as long as this process was in place.
I need to reiterate - and this reflects what I saw and overheard at other tables as well - I dine here often and enjoy it here. I won't be back due to this app experience, until it is gone, optional, or massively upgraded.
Food was good. Service was great. App was...
Read moreCame here for a meal prior to our flight. We were greeted pretty quickly. I ordered a coffee and a water. My friend an iced tea. Only my coffee came. Server then said that he would be back with my water and for us to order our food. He left quickly before we could say that we actually wanted to order now.
20minutes pass by, server is at the bar talking to people. Our boarding time is approaching so I wave down another waitress. She takes our order and I ask for the water again.
A bit of a wait for the food, still no water when it comes out. Food was pretty average, not bad. We rushed to eat our food quickly.
We then had to wave her down for our bill and specifically ask for the machine, which still then took another 15mins.we had asked her for the bill and explained the time constraints while still eating.
We left the restaurant as our flight was boarding, we had over an hour and a half prior to boarding when we sat down. Ridiculously slow service. $4 for a coffee which I never got to refill because the service...
