There is so much wrong with this institution. The sociology professor "Dr." Dahringer is unqualified, meal hall is overpriced for what it is, residence is a scam that will charge you for every penny you're worth, the student body is arrogant and obnoxious, and lastly when I tried to get my transcript from the university after leaving they never got it to me. Whatever they tell you about the place is a lie and all that you see is an illusion. Its a money grabbing institution that does not care about their students rather the money in their pockets. My advice is to look elsewhere for an education and think twice about Acadia. The reason I am going out of my way to write this is because I was cut from the football team for whatever reason the coach had. Student athletes are treated as a product, not a person. I was cut in the middle of the summer, long after training camp was over. I had no chance to cancel my lease, collect my belongings, and most importantly transfer programs to another school. Bottom line is Acadia does not care about you. Do...
Read moreIf you're thinking about attending this university, run while you still can. It was easily the worst 8 months of my life. I was sleep deprived all year from hearing my neighbors punch holes in the wall at 3 AM and break my section's furniture (which everybody was charged for). Some of the professors weren't terrible, and the classes were bearable. The student life, on the other hand, was atrocious. The parties are trashy and disgusting, the whole campus smells foul, the dining hall food isn't edible, there's nothing to do, nobody has manners, most buildings appear unkept, the only gym is unusable, and the medical services are a joke. I could go on, but I believe I have made my point. No employer will ever take you seriously with a degree from this "university," so if you care about your future, I'd highly suggest looking elsewhere and if you just want parties, find some place...
Read moreA review from someone who went to school here:
Unlike most of the reviewers on here, I didn’t just take a stroll through campus. Wolfville is in fact an amazing town. It has everything and the people are great; but Acadia definitely benefits from this. If you think that going to a smaller school with smaller classes and a more personal approach to learning will benefit you than rethink your strategy. This school is just like every other university. The profs don’t care and the admin care even less. Every inquiry I’ve had with administration just got passed on to someone else and no one who works here has any idea what’s going on. Pick the school you attend based on the city, because I promise no matter what university you go to, it will be the same everywhere. You are just a number regardless...
