I dined here with my partner today, July 26th, and while our appetizer arrived quickly and tasted great, the rest of our evening was disappointing. After our initial order, we waited a full hour and a half for our entrées to arrive. During this time, our server—who told us she was new—checked in multiple times to apologize, mentioning we “must be hungry” and promising our food wouldn’t be long. On her third visit, she explained there had been a kitchen accident where an employee was burned on the fryer, which caused further delays, and she assured us the appetizer would be removed from our bill because of the wait.
When our food finally arrived, my partner’s meal was cold, and we decided not to mention it since we knew the staff were already dealing with other issues. On receiving the check, we noticed the appetizer had not been comped as promised. We politely raised this with our waitress, expressing that we felt uncomfortable paying full price given the length of the wait and cold food. She spoke to her manager, but the manager refused to remove the $15 appetizer, instead telling us that they are a “slow service restaurant” and customers should expect their food within two hours—this was never mentioned to us or indicated anywhere online.
To make things more confusing, the restaurant was not busy; most tables were empty, so the reasons for the delay didn’t make sense. After we declined to leave a tip due to the disappointing and uncomfortable experience, our server abruptly tore up the receipt at our table and claimed the delays were because only two waitresses were working.
Overall, while the atmosphere was initially enjoyable and we tried to be patient, the disorganized service, unfulfilled promises, and attitude from both management and staff left us upset. What could have been a pleasant evening turned into a frustrating one due to inconsistent communication and a lack of...

Read moreTonight was my second time at Troy this summer, and both times the service was sub-par and overall experience was underwhelming, which is a shame because the food is quite tasty.
The first time I was here was roughly a month ago with a group - the meals were served so wildly out of sync that half of us were finished eating by the time others were just getting their salads. One person in the party actually received their meal as we were paying and parting ways...
This time wasn't as drastic, but a couple things stood out, which I'd like to note:
(1) We were seated and ordered apps within 10 minutes. It took almost 40 minutes to receive our appetizers - three cold dips and pita bread. It's clear our order had been forgotten about, which happens, but what's more annoying is that our server had been clearly informed of my Celiac disease, yet the cutlery (spoons for the dip, etc) came in the basket in between the bread. She never came back to check on us, so we wound up having to improvise. A big deal? No. Annoying? Yes.
(2) The mains also took quite a while to arrive, but we weren't really in a rush so it wasn't a huge issue. In saying that, when they finally did arrive, our food was lukewarm at best. This was disappointing, as we'd been at the restaurant for nearly 90 minutes by this point and were both quite hungry. The server checked back for a millisecond and asked how things were, but before we could even say something she was gone again. Instead of sending our meals back to be reheated, we just chose to eat them given how long we'd waited.
I want to like Troy, I do, because the food is good... but I'm not sure I'll be back again...
