Kwun Tong Swimming Pool — Attraction in Hong Kong

Nice, relatively new public swimming pool.

There were lots of children with their coaches (and others, eg elderly walking in the water) in the smaller indoor pool on a Sunday morning. Very crowded, no lanes, need to swerve around others when trying to swim.

The big indoor pool had lanes and was less crowded. The water was a little cold - some kids had purple lips after swimming lots of laps.

On an early weekday morning, we saw what looked like an aqua aerobics class for the elderly. Quite a big class but there was enough space for everyone.

There are lots of lockers and general space in the changing rooms but not enough showers and hair dryers during busy times. May need to wait.

Cleaning staff was hosing the stairs with water so dirty water from upstairs was flooding the floor downstairs when we were trying to use the hair dryer area - yuck.

Non-swimmers accompanying swimmers need to pay for entry unless the coach brings you inside (which is the norm). Non-swimmers may need an umbrella and flip flops to get through the shower/foot bath between the changing room and the swimming pool.

You will be uncontactable by phone inside the changing rooms as there is no reception.

Like it a lot. It's designed for training, learning and generally keeping fit. Both the main indoor pool and the outdoor secondary pool are a full 50 metres with the main pool wider by one lane. The 3 smaller training pools are too shallow for adults but perfect for children to learn and train in. No water park for toddlers and family fun but this pool complex is designed for swimming. To cool off in the hot summer the two indoor pools are best. The outdoor area and pools are ideal for those who would like to get a healthy tan as long as it's not overdone. One small problem is there aren't quite enough shower booths when it's crowded but the water flow is nice and strong giving a good soothing massage. Very large Olympic sized indoor pool. Also has an outside roof top swimming pool, with sun lounging areas. This pool has good opening hours suitable for swimming early hours in the morning up until 10pm at night. Open most days aside from days when they clean the pool which usually have alot of advanced notice so time is not wasted for swimmers. Very well managed pool, Nice changing rooms and shower facilities with good locker systems to keep valuables. Free drinking fountains available. As well as multiple vending machines that take COINS and octopus cards. Swimming pool entrance fee is approx $17 which I feel is worth the money.
