Crystal Orange Hotel Qingdao May Fourth Square — Attraction in Qingdao

A very good recently-refurbished hotel in a very good location downtown Qingdao. Cleanliness is top notch. I like the in-room coffee filter and complimentary snacks and minibar. There's also a cafe/bar lounge in the lobby, good for hangout after a short walk from 4th May square / promenade. My complain is that the delivery robot takes up so much space in the elevator, and it's quite frequent in delivering stuff to the guest's roooms. I once have to wait for 10 minutes just to get down from 7th floor to the lobby because only 2 out of 3 elevators are working at that time, and during that 10-minute period the elevator is always full (my assumption is that the robot takes up the space :). But overall the hotel feels very new, hence very clean and neat. I hope by the time I write this the hotel management already can have a solution for elevator...

We had a comfortable stay at the hotel with great amenities off provided in the room and even laundry facilities available for free in order for guests to use. In addition, the check in process was seamless even if we didn’t speak Chinese as they were able to use google translate to communicate and allow us to check in. Wen Qiao was especially a standout as we were having some issues connecting to the WiFi and others were just saying that it wouldn’t have been possible to connect but she took the extra step of finding a way to do so without a Chinese number. She played a huge part in starting off the stay at the hotel in such a welcoming way by taking the extra step to help resolve the issue  and made us feel welcome even if we didn’t...

This hotel is quirky and stylish and generally fine, however...On arrival the clerk presumed I was in the same room as a male friend who had arrived earlier, despite me showing my own passport and booking confirmation...this meant I was given their room card and was very nearly in a very embarrassing situation when i entered their room and heard them in the shower! Sorted when I went back to reception and given an odd gift to try and make up for it but this really isn't an ideal situation. Presuming we are staying together just because we're foreigners is not appreciated.The shower was disappointing and not able to position so that you wouldn't get your hair wet, unless you physically held it.Liked the style of the Tatami room...
