“Art enclave of shanghai”
M50 is one of the famous contemporary art zones of Shanghai. The place was actually a mill producing clothes, which was later converted into a place to display art.
Talking about the place, it has more than 100 art cafes with free entrance; the walls are all painted with different designs, art forms and graphics. The main aim of the artists is to display their art and to sell as much as possible.

Today, it had grown into several buildings, with large galleries and experimental spaces. It was good to see that artists are still around, though these seem to now be of younger age, and more into experimental art.

I believe that a real art connaisseur could spend lots of time there, however, I would not recommend this place to any "simple tourists", unless you are looking for some unique, handmade souvenir.
