I stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip, last week The hotel is very nice for its price, I paid Rs 4500 approx/night and you wont get that quality in that price in most places.
Its about 1 hour from the Pudong airport (taxi would cost you 220-280 RMB), and its near to the Metro (10 mins walk) and near to Peoples Square, Nanjing Street and the Bund (Popular Tourist Places) (3 stops in the metro Line 1)
The Room was nice and spacious (not much view though as it faces the city), I was on the 7th floor, maybe the higher floors would have a better view, but a clean room with a work table and a sofa, the TV does have a couple of English channels so that was good. You will be given 2 bottles of water every day and they stock-up the bathroom amenities daily (if you use them)
Checkin/Checkout was easy, the staff is professional and speaks English.
Breakfast was good (but its the same every day) they have 2 breakfast halls which are a little small (considering the capacity of the hotel) but its open from 6 am to 1030 am so you can manage (PS: 8-9 AM is not a good time to go for breakfast as its most crowded)
Overall: Very...
Read moreWorst hotel experience ever. Staff spoke barely 2 words of English. Had no idea where the banks were even though an international ATM was 30 metres away from their front door. Worst experience to get a taxi with them so fed up i downloaded Didi taxi booking system and used it. Horrible sewage smell right outside the front door. No fridge in room. No ironing facility in room , you have to go to a Laundry room several floors down. Breakfast was terrible, only fried eggs and chicken sausages were available if you want a American breakfast, rest is all Chinese food. International travelers not recommended to stay here unless you're on a budget. We booked the wrong Express hotel and dearly paid it by landing up in this hole....
Read moreHotel staff could not careless about customer service. Tried to reach them several times because of a booking mistake and they didn't return calls. After several attempts, they said that hotel policy didn't allow for changes despite the fact that an attempt to rectify the mistake was made moments after it was made. Booked a wrong date by mistake and booked several correct days immediately after. Since they didn't want to cancel my wrong booking date, I cancelled the other dates. Penny wise, pound foolish. Won't be staying at an IHG property again, let alone the Holiday Inn Express in Shanghai....
