Pullman Shanghai Jingan is strategically located because it is very close to MRT Station Shanghai Railway Station Red Line and very close to Nanjing Road with only one transit. Check-in was smooth, immediately given the key and asked for a deposit of 1000 rmb. The hotel has a rather dark nuance and is dominated by brown color. As Accor Plus Platinum members, we were given lounge access, late check-out at 2 pm and our room was upgraded to an executive room with a view of the main road.
The room is also not too spacious and feels crowded with chairs and work desks, lounge chairs, mattresses, large TVs. King-sized bed with 4 pillows. It is a bit difficult to open 2 suitcases in the room. The floor is carpeted so it is comfortable. A plate of fruit and 2 bottles of Perrier sparkling water are provided. For mineral water, 2 bottles are provided and can be added for free (don't worry, in China the price of water is the same as in Indonesia, only 3 thousand - 4 thousand). Royal Tea Time brand tea with 4 types of tea and Douwe Egberts brand coffee.
The bathroom is also rather narrow and long with a narrow shower area too. The closet is placed near the window with city view. Towels provided are 2 body towels, 2 hand towels and 2 face towels. Amenities use a dispenser model with the C.O. Bigelow Standard Pullman brand. The shower also has a rain shower.
For facilities, they are in a separate building from the room so if you want to go to the facilities, you have to move to the elevator via the lobby first, there is a swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym, and spa. For swimming pools in China, you are required to wear a head covering.
The Executive Lounge has afternoon tea and evening cocktails. For afternoon tea, there is a choice of canapé cakes, nuts, cookies, salad, fruit. For evening cocktails, there are fried rice, vegetables, pizza, onde-onde, beef muscles, fried pork, tripe, and eel. Other menus include salad, cold cuts, cheese. On the second day they even provided sauce dishes with crab meat (for the famous Shanghai crab noodles).
The breakfast menu is considered very delicious for the Pullman class and has many variations. There are: coffee, juice, salad, cheese, compote, cold cut, fruit, noodle station, dimsum, porridge Vegetables, fried rice, cakue, kuotie, bread, eggs, oatmeal, tofu soup, potatoes Cauliflower, tomato, baked bean, bacon, broccoli, sweet green bean, sauteed mushroom Pork sausage, chicken sausage, waffle, pancake, bread butter pudding, various breads. Egg tart, muffin, pastry,...
Read moreMy stay at the Pullman Shanghai Jing’an was solid and aligned well with the brand’s executive-focused positioning — nothing overly special, but nothing problematic either.||As an Accor Plus Platinum member, my status was recognized, and I was upgraded to an Executive Room. While I appreciated the gesture, I was honestly disappointed that no suite was offered — especially since I checked the app and full suite availability was showing for my weekday stay. It felt like a missed opportunity for better recognition.||The Club Lounge was nice — not extravagant, but efficient and comfortable. The staff were attentive and professional, though none stood out enough for me to remember names. It got the job done, no fuss, no frills.||The room itself was actually a pleasant surprise — while small in size, it was beautifully appointed with luxurious design elements and thoughtful touches. The bedding and pillow menu were fantastic, ensuring a very comfortable sleep. Definitely one of the highlights of the stay.||Breakfast was good, though the egg station staff weren’t particularly engaged or attentive during my visits. Again, not a complaint — just nothing memorable.||The gym was in good shape, and although the sauna was unfortunately closed during my stay, the facilities otherwise felt well-maintained. The spa, however, was significantly overpriced — even the hotel staff discreetly acknowledged better value could be found just steps away. It might be time for Pullman to reconsider that vendor relationship.||I did like the privacy and security of the hotel — it caters mainly to Chinese professionals and international business travelers, which I found created a very calm and professional environment. Security checks for drop-offs and visitors were thorough, which at first felt excessive, but made sense in the bigger picture of guest safety.||The elevator system, however, was painfully slow — tolerable on a quiet weekday, but I can only imagine the delays during high occupancy weekends or events. That’s definitely an area in need of an update.||All in all, Pullman Jing’an does what it’s meant to do — offer a polished, business-ready experience in a central location. No major complaints from me, but also nothing that stood out as a “wow” moment. If you’re looking for a functional, professional stay with just the right amount of comfort and privacy, this property...
Read morePullman Shanghai Jing An Hotel boasts a strategic location near Shanghai Railway Station and Subway Lines 1, 3, and 4, making travel incredibly convenient. Several delicious restaurants surround the hotel, along with convenience stores that sell snacks and drinks late into the night. Some of the hotel staff are proficient in English and provide thorough information about membership benefits.
One of the hotel’s unique features is its use of automatic robots for room service deliveries, which impressed us as we had never experienced this before. The staff also upgraded our room from a Superior Room to a Suite, which featured a separate living area and bedroom. The bathroom was spacious and well-stocked with all the necessary amenities.
We particularly appreciated the hotel's attention to detail. On our first night, we were very thirsty and requested extra drinking water. The next evening, when we returned to our room, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the staff had restocked several bottles of water during housekeeping.
The executive lounge during evening hours offered a decent selection of snacks and alcoholic beverages, including white wine, red wine, and beer, which we found to be a great addition to the room price. The breakfast spread was equally impressive, featuring a wide variety of both Western and Chinese dishes. We especially enjoyed the local noodles, which could be customized to our liking. The rest of the food was delicious as well, and the restaurant staff delivered excellent service, with a strong service mindset and a willingness to assist, even though some had limited English proficiency.
In summary, Pullman Shanghai Jing An offers excellent value for money. The staff are friendly and attentive, the rooms are clean and luxurious, and the hotel’s location provides easy access to public transportation. The facilities, including the swimming pool, gym, and spa, are well-maintained, though they are located in a different section of the hotel, requiring a separate elevator. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a well-located, reasonably priced stay with...
