Shanghai Library — Attraction in Shanghai

Awesome library - it’s the central library in Shanghai thus also the biggest. It has 4 floors - the 4th floor is my favorite. It has collection of foreign books (Friendship Library) from many countries from the US to Japan to Russia - but the floor closes at 5 pm. Even 30 minutes before the staff would start reminding people to get ready to pack. However, some rooms on the 1st and 2nd will open until 8:30. There’s a canteen at the ground floor - 1 small dish cost around 10 yuan. So lunch with 2 side dishes can cost up to 22 yuan. The cafe is good too - only 18 yuan for latte. Great big building that is filled with books, I guess. Sadly, I didn't see any when I got in. The whole library is separated into rooms and they are closely guarded. I had registered for a Reader's Card and still I didn't go into those rooms. I didn't have much time and I don't like such serious formality in a library. Maybe I'll return some day but as ... way leads on to way, I doubt that I should...
