Completely unsafe. The guy who took me wreaked of weed. He didn’t give any information during the flight. When we landed (in a totally different place than planned) he didn’t say a word about where we were and didn’t have his cell phone. His two friends joined us and I sat on the side of the road while they spoke to each other without addressing the obvious problem of being stuck in the middle of a random neighborhood. They finally took my cell phone and called for a taxi, again without telling me what was going on. They kept taking my phone to make calls without my permission. They then told me to get into the taxi with two other people and wouldn’t tell me where we were going. Finally they dropped me off at a gas station on a busy highway by myself to wait for transportation. I am a native Spanish speaker so I was able to get to a safe place on my own but I wouldn’t recommend any women use this company. There are 5 others right next door that you can go to, so skip flying with irresponsible people. Also, despite making a reservation, waited over an hour for three other people to go first because they were short on pilots and just kept taking more people on...

An incredible experience soaring over Medellin. We went paragliding with them on Feb 17, there were 4 of us.

Please keep in mind before you book that this activity depends heavily on the weather. We were told to call them at 8 am. on that day to see if the weather was ok to fly. Luckily, the weather was perfect so we went there on our appointment.

The male staff at the counter was very helpful, all of us checked in and went to get ready to fly.

Diego, our pilot on that day was very professional, he explained all the steps necessary for the safe flight. Even that, once you are attached to the pilot, some of us took off right away while others had to wait for the wind to pick up.

But the overall experience was amazing. Even though some of us were experiencing some tubulance during the flight.

Abzug wegen unmöglicher Wartezeit, Erlebnis einmalig.

Wer einmal in Medellin ist, dem ist es dringend ans Herz zu legen, einen Gleitschirmflug zu unternehmen. Wir entschieden uns für die "Zona de Vuelo" an den Bergen im Nord-Westen der Stadt. Tipp: am besten ein UBER oder den Bus nehmen.

15 Minuten Flug mit einem erfahrenem Flieger gibt es hier für $150k, für 20 Minuten werden $180k aufgerufen. In meinen Augen ein fairer Preis, vor allem im internationalen Vergleich.

Man muss im Vorraus ein Online-Formular ausfüllen, kann man aber auch vor Ort machen. Es wird der allgemeine Gesundheitszustand, A lter, Gewicht und ähnliches erfragt. An der Kasse bezahkt man und schaut ein kurzes Einführungsvideo und schon geht es los zum Abflugplatz ... dachten wir zumindest.

Achtung: bei nebligem Wetter oder nicht ausreichender Thermik kann die Wartezeit gut und gerne wie in unserem Fall 4 - 5 Stunden nach der vereinbarten Uhrzeit betragen. Man bezahlt allerdings erst kurz bevor man zum Abflugplatz geht, also in der Hinsicht wird man nicht abgezogen. Um die Wartezeit zu überbrücken, gibt es direkt nebenan im selben Gebäude ein Restaurant in dem landestypische Speisen günstig mit grandioser Aussicht angeboten werden. Im Gebäude ist auserdem eine öffentliche Toilette, kostenlos auch ohne etwas im Restaurant zu kaufen.

Ist man dann aber erstmal in der Luft, vergisst man beim grandiosen Ausblick alle Strapazen und gleitet durch den ewigen Frühling über die wunderbare Berglandschaft der Antioquischen Hauptstadt. Es bedarf nicht einmal langen Klamotten, lediglich eines festen Magens. Spätestens bei der Landung, meistens aber auch schon während des Flugs, muss der Flieger recht sportliche Flugmanöver vollführen. Leute, denen leicht übel wird, sollten hier eher Abstand nehmen.

Zur Flugzeit: selbst 15 Minuten reichen locker aus! Man sieht alles in der Zeit, das man vom Fluggebiet aus sehen kann, den Rest der Zeit fliegt man über die gleichen Gebiete. Über der Stadt darf oder kann nicht geflogen werden, so hat man schnell alles gesehen und bei längerer Flugzeit besteht das Risiko, dass es etwas eintönig wird.

Kleine Nettigkeit: kommt man im Monat des Geburtstags, wird einem ein leckerer Schokoladen-Brownie geschenkt, ist auch nicht selbstverständlich.

Es gibt wohl außerdem die Möglichkeit, den Flug mit einer geliehenen GoPro in der eigenen Hand selbst aufzuzeichnen und sich das Material danach übermitteln zu lassen. Vermutlich aufgrund der langen Wartezeit haben wir diese Option kostenlos erhalten, jedoch hat die Übermittlung aufs handelsübliche Samsung-Smartphone nicht funktioniert. Man darf und kann aber problemlos während des Flugs das Handy zücken und so selbst Aufnahmen besserer Qualität erstellen.
