Visiting this farm and taking part in some instructional cooking was one of the best parts of our Costa Rica Trip.

Huberth gave us a fantastic tour of the property, and was an extremely experienced guide sharing about the plants and animals we came across.

We enjoyed collecting medicinal herbs and plants we would use for our meal. We made a delicious (and incredibly healthy) sugar cane juice that was the best I had.

For the cooking class, my partner had REALLY wanted to learn to make some items from a traditional casado, including gallo pinto, plantains, and tortillas and the family was kind enough to switch around some of the planned meal prep to allow her to practice her favorite items.

The end result was EASILY one of the best meals we had in all of Costa Rica.

The warmth and hospitality we received while at the farm created a memorable experience that we absolutely won't forget. Couldn't recommend doing this more if you're the kind of person who is interested in learning more about Tico culture, cooking,...

The night tour with Huberth was a gem of an experience. We were staying at a bungalow on the farm and he met us there to take us on an adventure - finding and learning about all the incredible wildlife around us. This included loads of frogs & toads (tree frogs, glass frogs, blue jeans, leaf frogs, bull toads & more), a kinkajou, a northern cat eye snake, insects, lizards, an iguana, and sleeping birds (toucan, tanager, hummingbird). He was very generous with sharing his passion, knowledge and time, and the tour definitely gave us a deeper appreciation of our little neighbours. 100% recommend, especially if you’re lucky enough to be staying...

Staying on this farm and the farm tours (chocolocate and night tours) were the highlight of our entire trip in Costa Rica. Dixon has the best moonlight dome airbnb. The tours Dixon and his father (Hubert) did for us were amazing- we saw tons of wild animals, frogs, even a tucan bird. They went out of the ways to find some amazing animals for us. The chocolate tour we also highly recommend- the process, aroma, and at the end we made our chocolate everything was unforgettable. What struck me the most of how connected to the land they are and they truly care a lot about the eco system they live in. It was an...
