Arenal Tree Cabin — Hotel in Peñas Blancas

Absolutely loved staying here and would definitely come back! Great location, awesome room and surrounding atmosphere, and excellent customer service. Our microwave stopped working at one point and we were promptly given a replacement which I was thrilled by. The owner also checked in on us virtually to make sure we had everything we needed. But I have to say my favourite part was the animals! There were friendly cats and dogs all around the area which boosted my experience. There are three ducks there that are always hanging out in the same spot and it brought me so much joy to say hola to them every day. We’ve had fantastic experience with Cabinas Del Lago. We love Costarica and travelled many times. We usually take Ecco lodges fully immersed in nature while still very comfortable. Cabinas has all of that. Accommodation is very well designed, very clean and homey. However what made huge difference was customer service. We came in high season where everything is usually booked well in advance. We luckily found a space at Cabinas unfortunately only one night was available. Then Marco offered to help us find alternate accommodation for another 2 nights. And the second accommodation was fantastic clean and quiet. Thank you Marco for your hospitality. Overpriced stay. It's near a main road, so car noises at 5am. Few cabins on a pond might be better than what we experienced.

We had #7 which was dark and smelled like mold/moisture.

First night was a bit chaotic. There were bugs everywhere inside cause they left the windows open without screens. The air was hardly breathable and we feared the smell would get into our cloths.

Second night was a bit better cause we asked for a sheets change and a sented candle to help the smell.
