Fortezza Sant’Anna (trdava Sv. Ana).
La Fortezza di Sant’Anna è la più antica delle quattro fortezze costruite alla difesa della città di Sebenico. Costruita all’inizio de primo secolo su un precedente castelliere e le fu dato il nome di San Michele protettore della città di Sebenico. Nel 1221 fu distrutta, poi nuovamente riedificata nel XIV secolo, è un rudere e attualmente stanno facendo dei lavori di recupero delle vecchie mura circostanti. Si trova sullo stesso colle poco distante dalla Fortezza Barone che è stata ristrutturata di recente, molto carina e offre uno stupendo panorama della città di Sebenico con il bellissimo canale di Sant’Antonio e le isole circostanti. Attualmente può essere poco interessante, ma se si vuole vistare queste fortezze vale la pena di visitarla per la sua lunga storia passata.

The Fortress of Sant'Anna is the oldest of the four fortresses built to defend the town of Šibenik. Built at the beginning of the first century on a former castle and given the name of San Michele protector of the city of Šibenik. In 1221 it was destroyed, then rebuilt again in the fourteenth century, it is a ruin and are currently doing some work to restore the surrounding old walls. It is located on the same hill not far from the Baron Fortress which has been recently renovated, very pretty and offers a wonderful view of the city of Sibenik with the beautiful canal of Sant'Antonio and the surrounding islands. The citizens of Sibenik built it in only two months ( in August and September of 1646) to use it for protection against Turkish warriors which started to attack the city in that year.
