Restoran No. 4 — Restaurant in Grad Šibenik

We are so happy, we found this rather hidden restaurant by accident and were lucky to secure a reservation for a party of seven for the same evening. Our table was located on the small upstairs terrace (if I recall correctly there were merely 4 tables incl ours), from which you enjoy a nice view and benefit from a pleasant, light breeze (depending on the weather, of course). Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, gave us very good wine recommendations and on top had a nice way with the kids. During our two weeks stay in Croatia and various restaurant visits, I have to say the dining experience at this place was by far the best! The carpaccio of tuna and beef were deliciously seasoned and of superb quality. As a main course we enjoyed a grilled sea bass, which the waiter professionally filleted for us, tasty vegetables as a side dish, grilled octopus and the kids had grilled salmon with baked potatoes, which was delicious as well. Wir waren heute im Restaurant No. 4 in der Altstadt von Šibenik. Zentral gelegen, aber etwas versteckt in einer Seitenstraße. Ein Ort, den man leicht übersehen könnte und genau deshalb eine echte Empfehlung.

Das Essen ist auf einem sehr hohen Niveau.

Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das Rib-Eye-Steak: ausgewähltes, perfekt abgehangenes Fleisch, auf den Punkt gebraten und sehr aromatisch. Auch die Platten wie die „Schinken-Käse-Platte“ oder „Hladna-Plata“ sind eine gelungene Kombination aus Dalmatinski Schinken, Köse und hausgemachter Feigenmarmelade. Dazu gab es einen extra Caprese-Salat und Brot, damit man überhaupt satt wird.

Das Risotto mit Meeresfrüchten, das ebenfalls sehr lecker war, und auch die Linguine Bolognese für die Kinder kamen bestens an.

Die Ambiente stimmt ebenfalls: eine schöne Außenterrasse mitten in der Straße sowie eine gemütliche Innenterrasse im zweiten Stock. Sehr charmant und angenehm.

Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt: Die Portionen sind einfach zu klein.

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis passt vom Niveau der Küche her, aber wenn man von einem Hauptgericht nicht satt wird und Brot oder Salat dazu braucht, wirkt der Preis am Ende niedriger, als er eigentlich ist.

Trotzdem: Wer in Šibenik wirklich gut essen möchte, abseits der vielen Lokale an der Promenade mit Top-Lage, aber schwacher Küche, sollte hierher kommen! Ein Restaurant, das wir definitiv weiterempfehlen können.

Hrvatski:

Danas smo bili u Restoranu No. 4 u starom gradu Šibenika. Smješten u samom centru, ali skriven u jednoj sporednoj ulici. Lako ga je previdjeti, ali zato je pravo otkriće.

Hrana je na vrlo visokoj razini.

Posebno moramo istaknuti Rib-Eye odrezak: pažljivo odabrano, dobro odležano meso, savršeno pečeno i izvrsnog okusa. Plate, poput „Hladne mesne pladnja“, odlična su kombinacija od Dalmatinskog pršuta i sira, maslina i domaćeg džema od smokava. Probali smo i rižoto s plodovima mora, koji je bio jako ukusan, a i linguine bolognese za djecu bili su pun pogodak.

I ambijent je ugodan: terasa na otvorenom u samoj ulici i unutarnja terasa na drugom katu. Vrlo šarmantno i lijepo uređeno.

Jedina zamjerka su porcije, jednostavno su premale.

Kvaliteta je izvrsna i cijena opravdana, ali ako se od glavnog jela ne najedeš i moraš uzeti još kruh ili salatu, cijena na kraju djeluje manja nego što zapravo jest.

Svejedno, za sve koji žele u Šibeniku dobro jesti, a ne upasti u zamku brojnih restorana na rivi s lijepim pogledom, ali lošom hranom, ovo je mjesto...

Whilst finding a place for dinner, we stumbled upon the beautiful ambient courtyard No. 4 is situated in; beautifully lit, it was inviting from the start. The ribeye steak was perfectly medium rare, the peppercorns and vegetables complimenting it well, though the potato ‘fritter’ was odd; texturally, taste wise and in portion size. The fish stew was great too, and the lamb was incredible. The cold fish sharing platter was average, and the pastas did not taste Italian at all (pairing Parmigiano with fish not great!!) Also not many vegetarian options … Additionally be aware that due to the way the place is nestled into the courtyard, there is no breeze and we were very very warm.
