MMy accommodation was 10 minutes away from the masjid, which made it so easy for me to attend daily salah there. I also had the opportunity to pray Jumu'ah on Friday, Alhamdulillah. The Jumu'ah prayer started very late (around 3pm) and was led by an African imam. I came super early and sat around for ages - usual timing is around 1.30pm in London, UK.
During Friday prayers, you will meet Muslims from all walks of life (tourists) and also cuban reverts. During salah times (outside of Jummuah), there are around 5-10 Muslims attending.
I was informed that the mosque is funded by the Saudi government, and there are plans for a purpose-built mosque in Havana insha Allaah. When I was there, the roof had several leaks, so some areas of the main prayer hall were wet.
There is also a women's section, which is very large. I had the chance to meet several Cuban reverts at the masjid. I met a Palestinian doctor who was teaching the revert Muslims how to read the Qur'an. It was such a humbling experience.
May Allah Azza Wajjal preserve our Cuban brothers and sisters, Ameen. You can check out my Instagram stories...

I think its a very postive place with alot of children and young adults and sisters in there inside the mosque playing and reading Salah and spending time in the mosque like we used to when we were children because the mosque was very welcoming. The Imama and people from the area are amazing and very polite. If you are in Hawana please visit this mosque and donate to support its...
