What a deception we had.
We arrived at 11am and by 2pm we were gone. We walked around a few streets with nothing to see, the Old Harbour was totally soulless, most streets had a funny smell, and if it wasn't because we found a good restaurant with good food and a nice sea breeze, it would have been really sad. Not even a decent souvenir store with Cypriot things, just turkish.

The first restaurant opposite the taxi rank is more expensive than a top hotel - 12 TL for an ice tea (2.5 at most mini-marts) and the food is at London, not Cyprus prices. Move into the harbour itself for a more reasonably priced meal. It's great colour for the walk to the castle, though in the evening you will be harassed by waiters and tourboat guides.
