Přírodní památka Slánská hora je kousek od středu města a tvoří dominantu krajiny. Dnes zalesněná hora je nejjižnějším výběžkem sopečné činnosti Českého středohoří. Skály jsou s charakteristickou sloupcovou odlučností a na jižním svahu byl v minulosti lom. Na Slánské hoře je patrná sloupcová odlučnost čediče a mazi zdejší zajímavosti patří i několik puklinových jeskyní. Přírodní rezervací Slánská hora vyhlášené v roce 1998, která se nachází ve městě Slaném, prochází naučná stezka Slánská hora s 11 zastaveními. Na informačních tabulích se dozvíme o historii a zajímavostech Slaného, o geologii zdejší bývalé sopky a o místní fauně a flóře.

The Slánska Mountain Natural Monument is a short walk from the city center and forms the dominant of the town. Today forested mountain is the southernmost tip of the volcanic activity of the Central Bohemian Highlands. The rocks are characterized by a distinct columnar separation, and there was a quarry in the past on the southern slope. There is a columnal separation of basalt on the Slanská mountain, and there are several cracked caves in the area. The Slánská Mountain Nature Reserve, proclaimed in 1998, is situated in the town of Slaný and it is surrounded by educational trail with 11 stops. Slaný mountain is a pleasant destination for a half-day trip from Prague. It's bizarre rock formations and far views from the top are remarkable points of interest. The climbing is physically undemanding and those interested in prehistory can still find the forgotten menhirs laying on the slopes...
