Oh where do I even start! Booking the room, apparently if you have a tiny baby ur options are limited to a 3 bed room out of which you still use only 2 beds and need a baby crib. The crib: lady on the phone was so kind to say that "yes there was a crib somewhere so it will probably be there". Probably? In a room for a price of any great European city hotel i would imagine it will.most certainly be there if it was requested. It was, traveler one with no mattress instead of a normal wooden crib which of course forces you to take child into your bed so no one can sleep. That would not be the end of bad sleeping arrangements unfortunately. Next comes rooms that are so tiny you cannot breathe there and with no Air Cooling you are left to opening the windows attracting tones of mosquitoes that make ur night unforgettable. Then came the breakfast... oh horror. Scrambled eggs looked liked someone already ate it once or wven twice. No sausage or bacon, just leftover fat unidentifiable something from the party night before. Well the food is a separate story, restaurant menu looks like it is in fact done by someone who knows how to cook but the reality is different. First time ever i actually left steak on a plate. My husbands meal was disgusting, another fatty fat piece of meat that was supposed to be a shnitzel. And of course when i asked if i could have 2 scambled eggs for my child cooked in the evening the guy didn't even bother to ask kitchen and just said No. So here we go, no sleep, horrible service and even worse food for a price on a really good hotel somewhere in a big city. Unless you have very low expectations do NOT trust all those good reviewes like i did and...
Read moreI stayed two night in this hotel and it was OK but nothing extraordinary. Hotel rooms were outdated and breakfast was good but nothing special. Reception and staff were very polite and check-in and check-out was fast. I would say that this is 3-star hotel rather than 4-star hotel. Unfortunately there are many new hotels in 15-20 minutes driving distance with same price level. It also bit disappointing when 4-star hotel doesn't have any iron and ironing board in each room and offers just standard soap/shampoo in room. I would also recommend to have waitress serving coffee and tea to tables at breakfast. There was people but they were mainly just watching not serving. Small details can raise even bit outdated hotel as a 4-star hotel - small details makes...
Read moreWe stopped in here on our way to Germany. Hotel rooms were really nice, bit small, but nice and clean. Food in restaurant was excellent, and staff was really nice - I mean friendly, but not ingratiating, and helpful with their advices about food and wine. Be aware that in-house gothic wine cellar you need to reserve in advance, it's not opened on daily basis it's on demand.
And not sure if it's so every day, but Slany like a city was most listless city I've ever been to - at 6PM all shops, coffeehouses near city center seemed closed, and there was just one pub opened where were sitting just 2 regulars. So we went back to our hotel, as that was most entertaining...
