There are not many botanical gardens in Prague but this one is merited by its location away from the centre. Although it straddles a main road, the high wall and meticulously kept flower beds and pedestrian bridges make it a world away from highways and shopping malls. Furthermore it's free to enter.

Patří střední zahradnické škole na Jarově a je spojena především se zahradnickým učňovským školstvím, ve všedních dnech je však přístupná i bezplatně veřejnosti. V místech zahrady stávala v polovině devatenáctého století usedlost Josefa Havlíčka se zahradou. Na přelomu 19. a 20. století byla zahrada přeměněna na park a usedlost na vilu. Poté se vlastníkem stal průmyslník Jirásko, který zahradu i s vilou vlastnil do konce 2. světové války. Vilu přestavěl na pseudorenesanční zámeček. Za války bylo v objektu velitelství gestapa a německý vojenský lazaret. V roce 1945 objekt zkonfiskoval stát na základě Benešových dekretů. V roce 1948 jej stát převedl na hlavní město Prahu.
The Botanical Garden of Malešice on the south-western slope of Tábor hill was originally created as a park of Jirásek's Villa. It belongs to the High School of Horticulture in Jarov and is mainly associated with the gardening apprenticeship school, but on weekdays it is open to the public free of charge. In the middle of the nineteenth century Josef Havlíček homestead with a garden used to stand in the garden. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries the garden was transformed into a park and a homestead into a villa.
