This castle has a lot to offer on the inside. From the outside it looks a bit run down and not as 'castley' as one might expect. However it is huge inside with 4 floors filled with rooms of information, exhibitions and history. We spent a solid 2.5hours walking through reading (most things) things that interested us. The exhibitions do change from time to time also. Most of the information was in Danish, German and English. It was 110dkk to get in and it was worth it. The restoration is done well and you can see where the building collapsed and where it has been changed and how thick all the walls are. I can highly recommend booking a guided tour before seeing the special exhibition. Our guide Erik was super and included many anecdotes as well as details about the renovation ind the last part of the 20th century with a floating roof above the old ruins. If you also want to enjoy the view from the square tower set aside at least 4 hours for your visit. Caveat: Our guide...
Read moreAgain, grading on a curve based on location, but I had a 2.5 hour Layover at the train station and decided to visit this place which is a very short walk from the station. We'll worth the walk. The museum is very well organized and you can feel the history when your there. It use to be a royal residence from what I was told, among many other things. Great staff and they have lockers to store your bags while your visiting the museum. A little pricy, I think that I paid 22 euros, but it was worth it. Good place to visit if you have the time and it sits right next to a beautiful scenic river and walkway with benches to stop and soak...
