This castle has a lot to offer on the inside. From the outside it looks a bit run down and not as 'castley' as one might expect. However it is huge inside with 4 floors filled with rooms of information, exhibitions and history. We spent a solid 2.5hours walking through reading (most things) things that interested us. The exhibitions do change from time to time also. Most of the information was in Danish, German and English. It was 110dkk to get in and it was worth it. The restoration is done well and you can see where the building collapsed and where it has been changed and how thick all the walls are. We had to use our map to help guide us to all the spaces as it is so big and has so many rooms coming out from different areas with lots of different stairways. Warm inside which was nice given the rainy...

I visited Koldinghus for the third time the past weekend to see the exhibition about the crown prinsesses of the past 100 years. I can highly recommend booking a guided tour before seeing the special exhibition. Our guide Erik was super and included many anecdotes as well as details about the renovation ind the last part of the 20th century with a floating roof above the old ruins. At a previous visit I saw an exhibition of samples form HRK Prince Henrik's jade collection. That was fantastic. Based on previous experiences we did not visit the basement restaurant. If you also want to enjoy the view from the square tower set aside at least 4 hours for your visit. Caveat: Our guide...

Again, grading on a curve based on location, but I had a 2.5 hour Layover at the train station and decided to visit this place which is a very short walk from the station. We'll worth the walk. The museum is very well organized and you can feel the history when your there. It use to be a royal residence from what I was told, among many other things. Great staff and they have lockers to store your bags while your visiting the museum. A little pricy, I think that I paid 22 euros, but it was worth it. Good place to visit if you have the time and it sits right next to a beautiful scenic river and walkway with benches to stop and soak...

I was positively surprised by the exhibit and really enjoyed it. The story and history of the castle was interesting and well presented. But what really created a special experience was the current exhibit of the Royal Danish dinnerware with hand painted local plants and complete set of the Flora Danica dinnerware from the king's birthday dinner in 1808. The display was.beautiful and the craftsmanship is amazing. The exhibit of the "Dannnebrog" royal ship inside the castle was interesting and impressive in it's design but still felt a little out of place and blocked the view of some of the fire restaurations which I would have preferred to see.

Kolding Castle or Kolding hus is a Danish royal castle in the town of Kolding located in Denmark. This castle is a Historic beauty in Denmark which was found in the 13th century and has been expanded and has been through many wars and even caught on fire. The original king that lived in the castle was King Christoffer III and has been passed down by many generations. There isn't much interior design to it but very old fashioned, but the over all scale of the castle is immense enough to make someone hurl. We really recommend that you visit Kolding Castle as it is a historical monument to Denmark and loved and enjoyed by many.
