Most Excellent vacation ever! This most excellent vacation started with the travel agent we used….Crystal from Castle Bound Travel Company…..who recommended The Excellence Punta Cana. She got me and my husband so excited about our trip and made it so easy to book. She also arranged the SUV private transfers with Seasons Transfers. The drivers where on time and very friendly both ways. We arrived at the resort earlier then check-in time so our room was not ready but we were told to go ahead and enjoy the facilities. We walked around the very beautifully well-kept gardens, beach and pool. When we returned to the lobby the room was ready. We had a problem with where our room was at and requested a change of room. The front desk personnel, Yessica and Hector, were very accommodating. From that moment until the morning we left, they made us feel very special by calling our room to ask if we were content, if we needed anything and making us feel well taken care of. The Miile Spa is a beautiful elegant place. You need to get there 30-45 minutes before your scheduled massage to enjoy the hydrotherapy pool with high pressure massage jets, the sauna and the steam room. Then you go on to your massage treatment. I booked for my first morning the 100-minute Dominican Awakening Ritual and got a 20% discount because I booked it from home. Estephania is a very skilled therapist that relaxes your body and calms your mind. This was the perfect way to start my stay at the Excellence, Punta Cana. I convince my husband to go back with me to the spa a couple days later. That day we had Estephania and Natividad do our massages in a couple’s massage room. This time I had the 75-minute Deep Hot Stone massage and my husband the 75-minute Excellence Massage after experiencing the hydrotherapy pool area. The beautiful pool goes from one end of the resort to the other. It goes under bridges and has areas where there are garden islands. The Blue Bar is in the pool. Jean Carlos, the bartender, got to know us and when he saw us getting close, he knew what drink to make us. One time I had a pina colada inside a coconut. When I was done, I asked him to open the coconut so I could it the meat. He used a utensil that he put in the top opening and scaped the amazing coconut meat out without cracking the coconut. It was delicious! In the afternoons, there were games and dance lessons around the pool area. Diony, better known as, Scooby Doo was a lot of fun and got everyone to join the party. He also, got the party going in the evenings at the entertainment area in the lobby. Carmen, the bartender from Prelude, also got us animated in the evenings at the shows. On Monday nights they have a big Dominican Party with a live band and so much food it is very hard to choose what to eat. The beach is the length of the resort as well. It is beautiful; however, we were not able to enjoy it because all the six days we were there, were red flag days. We still walked on the beach and wet our feet but could not go in the water. The food is great. We had breakfast and lunch at the Kitchen Table buffet and there was so much variety every day it was hard to choose. For dinner we ate at a different restaurant every night. We really enjoyed that there were no lines, no waiting at any of them. Our favorites where Agave (Mexican) and the Grill (steak) but they were all good. Every afternoon we went to Aroma to have coffee and a sweet snack. Jodanna, the barista at Aroma, was so friendly and happy. We had a lot of conversations with her. To sum it up, the Excellence Punta Cana was the perfect place for my husband and I to have an excellent vacation to relax, refresh, destress and enjoy a complete change of pace. We will return soon.

My husband and I just completed a 4 night stay at Excellence Punta Cana and were overall underwhelmed and disappointed by our experience. We chose an excellence club level room for the heightened service, room quality, and dedicated services, which we found to be a waste of money due to lack-luster service, a total lack of follow through on requests, and a poor response to AC issues. We had an amazing experience in the past at another resort, but this trip did not live up to the promised experience. The AC in our room was not working for 2 of the 4 nights, resulting in us avoiding our uncomfortably warm room at all costs, despite paying for a more luxurious room experience. At first we were promised a fan by a supervisor which would have more than addressed the issue, but were later rudely told there were no available fans in the whole facility and they wouldn’t send maintenance to assess our AC. We know maintenance issues happen but they were not prepared to respond, there was a disconnect from the promises of the club concierge and the reality of the situation, and were were treated rudely when we requested help with the issue. There is a dedicated club level beach area with a concierge hut, however that hut was always full of 4-5 employees focused on socializing and watching videos on a tablet. Beyond showing us a spot, we were completely ignored. Bar service was spotty and often left with a pile of trash for long periods of time at our spot. Finally throughout our stay the service was hit or miss, noticing that the male staff gave a LOT of attention and objectification to the female guests, and as two men, we were frequently ignored. There were many times we watched a staff member give exuberant service to another set of guests after walking right past us. Quality service is a keystone of the all inclusive concept, and even more so when paying extra for “club level” service, which Excellence claims is top tier. We did not experience the promised service and definitely would NOT recommend paying extra for club level here. We will likely not be returning to Punta Cana or other Excellence resorts in the future. We did reach out to customer service and have so far gone unanswered other than being assigned a ticket number

The tub in our room was absolutely disgusting and a hand towel had what appeared to be dried blood on it. The lounge bed on our patio was dirty and looked like it never was cleaned. I also had an item of clothing go missing that I had to file a report for. As staff searched our room they had found the missing item tucked UNDER the bed as the housekeeping was extremely careless with our belongings. The food was good but nothing to brag about and the server at Oregano served me and my husband a dish with pesto AFTER being told 5 times we BOTH had a peanut and tree nut allergy. Most of the servers we had did not speak well English and did not seem to understand we had a severe allergy nor did they care. However the hosts were very sweet at all locations we ate at. We did enjoy the spa for our anniversary and had an amazing time during our couples massage!!! Delsy was absolutely incredible and I will 100% recommend her to anyone if you are looking to get a massage, she was 10/10!!! We did the included hydrotherapy as we always do when coming to excellence and the hydro therapy guy was horrible and seemed like he wanted to be doing anything else then helping us. He continuously left us not knowing what we were doing next and just standing around, again seemed to not care what so ever about our experience. Me and my husband are very easy going people and are not hard to please as we have been to both Excellence Cancun and Jamaica and those were both 10/10 resorts. However I would not recommend this resort to anyone.

Loved it! Loved the staff and everyone who made our experience beautiful. I loved going into Aroma and speaking with Yordania. She was so nice, she made great coffee and an added bonus: she helped me learn more Spanish. I always enjoyed the bar or a restaurant with Wilson. He made well curated drinks and made our dinner experience fun. We also sat with Nicolas, Luis, and Eddy who were great servers. Making sure we had everything we needed and made great recommendations. Last but not least, Nayeli made sure our experience at the Excellence Beach Club was perfect and relaxing. We can’t wait to come back to the Excellence Punta Cana
