I recently went to the Dominican Republic and had the opportunity to visit the beautiful Christ Redeemer Statue in Puerto Plata. Standing tall atop Mount Isabel de Torres, this landmark offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The grounds and park around the Santa Isabel de Torres mountain are lush and available for hiking.

The site surrounding the Christ Redeemer Statue was clean and well maintained. There were ample seating areas where one can relax and soak in the beauty. Additionally, small gift shops provided an opportunity to purchase souvenirs. Please note you will likely be approached by the various store owners as you arrive to the viewing area. They'll offer to take any pictures you may need "free of charge". They'll then invite and escort you to their store in the hopes you buy something. They're nice, but the situation feels...

Unique skyride which is the biggest/tallest one in the Caribbean. It costs 10$ for gringos and 5$ for locals. It provides beautiful views. When u get up top there is a large statue (Cristo Redentor) where u can take pictures. There is also a store there along with a bathroom. You can also walk around the area but during my visit it was very cloudy and misty. When its cloudy the mountain top is covered in clouds. Be aware that vendors will follow you and attempt to sell you things. Others will follow you and offer to take pictures of you holding the statue and such. If you get cold easy bring a sweater as temps drop a lot on the mountain top. Skyride is also not recommended to those that are scared of...

The cable car ride was beautiful and a great experience. I licensed guide met us at the door and told us we could pay him whatever we wanted when it was over. He was informative about the history of the place, the trees and flowers and the statues. He had a guy help with taking pics of us w the statue, then that guy took us to his gift shop. We didnt buy anything and he gave us the very sad face, very uncomfortable. The weather and plants were beautiful but I didnt think the walk down to the lagoon and back up was worth it. Just not a big deal. We paid the guide $20 for his hour and 20 minutes and he looked disappointed. I thought it seemed like a...

The ride was closed however, a local told us to follow him we went around and up the mountain with our mini van and was able to go in. There was another gentleman up there that took our pics both of them were great people. Dont forget to tip good!!!! Btw its well worth the view

Statue of Jesus Christ at an altitude of around 2,800 meters. In the vicinity there are different traders with different kinds of overpriced kitsch. The neighborhood is nice nature. If there are no clouds here is a beautiful view of the island
