My husband and I actually extended our time in Quito by a day so we could visit Wikiri Sapoparque. I had heard about it on the World Wide Honeymoon travel podcast and was eager to see all the frogs. We arrived when it opened at 10 am and were given an amazing 2-hour tour of the facility by Salome Herrera, one of the biologist who works there. Not only did we get to see stunningly beautiful frogs (more species than we could’ve ever imagined), but we also learned about Ecuador’s conservation efforts to save endangered frog populations. Salome was a passionate and engaging guide, and Wikiri was one of the highlights of our trip to Ecuador.
