Gourmet Egypt - Maadi Degla — Attraction in Cairo

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I love the food here. The meat is always good and fresh. It’s the only place I will buy cheese and cold/cuts from, very good quality. Lots of prepared foods/quick meal options. All their baked goods are pretty much amazing!! Good produce selection. What do I hate? I hate how tiny and crammed the store is!! Its almost impossible to navigate a shopping cart. They did actually expand recently but still too crammed. Get more space please. I try to only stop in if I need to pick up a few things. However, I have been using their delivery service and it’s excellent, very easy to shop online with quick delivery. Gourmet is okay for some imported brands but their own brand stuff is really not very good. On the whole it's a pretentious supermarket that is overpriced and with delusions of sophistication. The service is sometimes lacklustre and I am not happy to see the guy who cuts the cheese using the same gloves he had just used a second before when handling raw meat. I am not sure why given that this store is so small they insist on having workers organizing shelves, etc. while open for walk-in business. It makes aisles which are already difficult to navigate that much more so. Surely they could do this after hours.
