RESTLESS — Restaurant in Cairo

My husband and I came after iftar to a cafe to meet our friend. The waiter came up to us and asked how many of us will be. We answered that we are three. The waiter said big tables for big groups. He pointed to a small table with four chairs. and said to sit here. Me and my friend are big, chubby, the last time we sat at this table together and we were cramped and there was no place for food and drinks! I told the waiter that the three of us would be narrow here and went to another table at the entrance with four chairs. It is larger, but the waiter said again that this is a place for a large group that might come. And that we should sit at that little table. The fact that it is clearly small even for two is obvious. We left the cafe. The manager was standing there and he did not react in any way to our dispute with the employee..

Note that the cafe was half empty. Two clients were already sitting with computers at a large table. And there were no big companies. They may come or may not come. If a large group had come, we would have already eaten and calmly moved. In addition, we are customers who have already arrived, and not mythical potential ones! And the management did not want to intervene in the situation. They preferred that we just leave. By his actions, the waiter kicked us out of the cafe. I consider it an insult.

This place need to know what hospitality means! The worst service, worst management and staff. Don’t know how to handle a complaint. Don’t know how to handle the customer needs all they need is to charge extra money if something not taste and its their fault. Needy greedy Management. I ordered Italian cappuccino with caramel but the waiter told me the size is small and the Caramel will make it sugary. Then i told him don’t but alot of Caramel.. when it came the coffee was so strong more than the caramel and it was not sugary, i asked to put more milk and that the caramel was not shown in the coffee. The waiter told me i told u it will be like this!! And this is not what he said, he said its small cup and the caramel “ هيجزع" so i told him don’t put much!! He said it was be extra charge for milk! Which was one sip! And when the check came i found be added extra caramel because he didn’t add the charge of milk! 😂😂😂 he said of course will not take the charge of these two!! There was no manager came to talk, he was standing away Such a disappointment experience because of extra money they needed to charge than deliver the right cup of coffee! SO DISRESPECTFUL!!!

I cant believe how rude and completely unhelpful the manager is!!! I was with two of my friends and we wanted to sit in one of the big booths they had since we were coming to study and needed big space. Even though there were THREE EMPTY booths the manager got this “new” policy that only 4 people or more can sit on the booths. I go to restless almost once or twice a week and never heard of this. He told us so disrespectfully like it was our issue and didnt even offer a compromise!! Keep in mind most of restaurant was completely empty. NOT TO MENTION THERE WAS THREE TAKEN BOOTHS WITH TWO OR THREE PEOPLE SITTING IN THEM!! We even offered to change our place if any big groups come in and the managers was so rude and didnt even try to accommodate us. Cant believe this behavior!! A manager is supposed to compromise and make us feel welcomed but instead we got disrespected and belittled. Had to leave this awful awful place because of this and they didnt even care! Lost a loyal customer today.
