Pros: good selection of fresh produce, frozen goods and various import goods some months ago they also extended their selection of household and personal hygiene products the staff respect hygiene rules higher quality and hygiene standards compared to other supermarkets and street vendors you will find shop assistants who speak English

Cons: many products are heavily overpriced (some items you can buy at seoudi or even from street vendors for 60% of the price in gourmet) unreliable supply chains which sometimes make your favorite products (in my case cereals and sparkling water) dissappear from the shelves suddenly and for an undetermined period inconsistent rules and processes. Depending on which shop assistant you ask sometimes it is possible to organize delivery to your home and sometimes not.

Galal Abu Ghazala is an amazing entrepreneur… he started this business when he came from Australia by importing outdoor grillls … then he opened a small meat store across the street from the current big Gourmet store … then he opened the first Gourmet store as the first ever upscale grocery store in the modern Cairo .
