Had a great visit today. Ignore the "not open" "guarded" and "couldn't get in" reviews. Thank you to the reviewers who tell you how to get in. Super easy. Get permission to slip in the main square opposite the theater, just inside the library on the left. Took 2 minutes. Walked over, the guard let us in and we had a lovely walk round. It is just a ruin, but having glimpses of just how grand it would have been and the history behind it was very enjoyable.
