Kali Hotel y Eventos — Hotel in Santa Ana

I spent 4 nights in this hotel in October 2024. ||On the positive side:|1. The rooms are clean|2. The A/C worked well|3. The shower had HOT water and good water pressure.|4. The breakfast (included in my rate) was okay. Not great, but okay. |5. The central square where all the historic buildings are is about a 15 minute walk away.|6. Iron and Ironing board were already in the room.|7. Two bottles of drinking water provided daily.||On the negative side:|1. No in-room coffee maker. |2. The small desk was good for computer work, but it would have been better if there was a power outlet within reach of it. I had to work on battery power and then move the computer to the other side of the room to charge up the battery again at one of the two power outlets in the room (next to the bed).|3. No power outlets in the bathroom.|4. No comfortable padded chair to just relax in. Sit on the edge of the bed or lay on the bed to read or relax, but a comfy chair to relax in would have been nice. ||Over all, not bad. It is the only hotel I've stayed at in Santa Ana, so I can't compare it to others...

An older hotel in an historic part of town, a little off the beaten path for most tourists and people visiting on business, I believe. Rooms are clean and cleaned daily very well. Mini Split AC doesn't cool the room to US standards but it was sufficient. During my four night stay there were two heavy storms and the sky light area on the second floor takes in water. Staff had to clean up a lot. The hotel is also an event or conference center. When the large banquet room is being prepared for an event, it is not open for guest dining for breakfast. So we had to sit at a table in the foyer or on the second floor (with a quarter inch of water on it being cleaned up)....

Santa ana is a rather compact city you can walk everywhere. In the first place I’d say there ain’t that many hotels to choose from if you don’t want to do hostels but want to be on a budget. I had an early pickup for transfer to Antigua I told the hotel in advance and that early morning the doorman was looking out for me. Do note that the full name is kali hotel and events meaning sometimes in the night u will hear music ramming but it all died down by 10am. I was fine by that just take...
