A very interesting and detailed museum. The descriptions are mostly in Finnish, but this is not a big problem nowadays. Many exhibits require several approaches to realise and understand the idea. I was especially lucky to get a tour in my language (thanks Nina!).

I liked this museum, you can have an idea of how was an hotel or a bar in the last century.Nice decoration. You can try a machine where you can smell and try to guess the name of what is inside. The museum was empty only me there...free with museum card.

Suomen ravintoloiden historia on anniskeluvalvonnan tukahduttama. Rajoituksia ja veroja, etteivät vain synti ja ilo pääsisi esiin. Tänään tilanne on onneksi toinen, ravintoloita on yli 13000 ja ruokalähettejä 5000. Silti, katukeittiöiden rajoitusten vähenemistä vielä tarvitaan. Ravintolamuseon ja valokuvamuseon paikka pitää vaihtaa. Katutasossa ravintolamuseosta voisi kehittyä elävä ravintolafoorumi, jossa aistit ja tieto yhdistyisivät.

In een gebouw bevinden zich op 3 verdiepingen het fotografie-, hotel- en restaurantmuseum. Leuk om te zien en ervaren hoe we vroeger buiten de deur aten, sliepen en ontspanden. De tentoonstelling in het fotografiemuseum is een aanrader; De begrafenistrein waarmee Robert Kennedy naar zijn laatste rustplaats werd vervoerd in Washington is vastgelegd op foto en film.

Отличный музей. Но я была там в сопровождении экскурсовода. Поэтому многие нюансы были нам разъяснены. Не уверена, что если бы я пошла в этот музей, то мне бы он так же понравился. Очень важно сопровождение и пояснения к экспонатам. Но в целом, я могу рекомендовать этот музей и для самостоятельного посещения. С детками тут тоже хорошо.

Mielenkiintoinen ja informatiivinen näyttely. Aiheita ja esineistöä on sopivasti. Herättää paljon nostalgiaa. Täälläkin voisi olla naulakossa portsarin, tarjoilijan, pikkolon ja alkon myyjän takit joita kokeilla ja ottaa kuvia. Nyt jo on lapsille kankaasta tehtyjä karjalanpiirakoita ja carnevalkeksejä.
