Pori City Library — Attraction in Pori sub-region

As an English speaker and not a reader of books in Finnish you might wonder why I have been here so often! Pretty well every time I visit Pori which has been once or twice a year for over 30 years.

Well one can use the computers, although usually I take my Laptop; there is quite good free WiFi. There are quite a few English magazines (and there used to be also English language newspapers).

It's a peaceful and pleasant place to work. Before I retired I used to go to the library to do work.

By the way I believe there is some sort of booking system for using computers and I am not up to speed on how that works nowadays.

Also many years ago I attended Finnish lessons at the library which for some may be worth asking about.

Just checked and although there might be others the only mag in English is "The Scientific American". Always good to be reminded that...

The only thing I did not like was the librarian's answer when I wanted to donate some books in romanian and english. He said they don't have clients for romanian literature and did not accepted the romanian books. English books have been accepted. This attitude was discriminatory and totally unprofessional.
