Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna, Pori — Hotel in Pori sub-region

The hotel is absolutely great!! 😁 Online booking was smoothly, check in was fast. The people at reception was friendly and helpful. Rooms are perfect, all necessary elements were there for several days: towels, tv, air conditioning, coffee, etc. No safe however. Rooms are distributed in two buildings, connection underground. There is gym 24 hours and sauna, of course 🇫🇮 (specific shift m/w). Breakfast 🍞 can be selected while booking, if not, it cost 18e/day (if I remember correctly). It is buffet and really complete: salad, cheese, hot food, puro, fruit... Gluten free, considered. The staff there were really friendly and nice, they are always checking you find food at the bar, and the place is really clean. Quality food. My recommendation for the breakfast, really unpopular😒, you should include a fine to those who waste food... People left a lot of food on...

I stayed here two nights. Overall nothing to compain: staff was friendly, room was spacious (bathroom ok too even slightly small), great breakfast and good location. There are many restaurants nearby, everything in walking distance.||||Only thing which I found annoying is that rooms weren't cleaned every day. The reason was "eco friendliness". But for my opinion it's more about green-washing. I don't ask anyone to change my towels every day or sanitize everything. But the place wouldn't be any less eco-friendly if rooms are tidied up every day - make beds and empty bins. This kind of eco-friendliness "we don't step to the room while you are staying here if you don't make any special requests for it" is more about cutting employee costs and trying to cover it behind nature values. So this was only annoying thing at Original...

I was not expecting a room from a separate 80’s office style building accross the street. We needed to enter the building through a bar terrace where drunken men approached me and my high-school aged girl. We felt very uncomfortable.||Room itself was basic, however red vinyl in the floor and walls in the entrance is a strange choise. However beds were comfortable and room was clean. Hotel was a bit noisy in the midnight.||I requested a view but it was totally blocked by some ugly structure.||Breakfast was good, service in the check-out was very friendly and professional. I guess the stay in the main building would have met our expectations but this time I did not experience value for the money I paid.||Parking slots were narrow so we needed to park on the street...
