Ault is a wonderful town. Small and quiet town center. A nice church. Some good shops and restaurants.
But the most amazing sights in Ault are the cliffs on both sides of the town. Impressive, amazing, massive. The Dover cliffs are world famous. So is Etretat (in France) with its cliffs. Why Ault and the cliffs are not more famous is beyond me. It's a nice town with friendly people and the cliffs are as impressive as the ones above.
You can look at them from the bottom by the beach or from a viewpoint on the right side of town. Or you could go on a beach walk heading west. Which we did as well. A very rewarding walk (hiking shoes recommended).
Fantastic cliffs. And so little visitors. Mostly just locals and national visitors. You won't see many international people here. Which is nice. Ault and the cliffs are still a bit of a secret. We really enjoyed our time, the views, the walks, the town.
But it is a windy, cold place. Even in summer. Be sure to wear the right clothes when visiting. And the weather can...
