An Unforgettable Wine Tour Experience with Jean Gabriel in Provence During our recent Superman cruise, we had the pleasure of stopping in Marseille, France, where we were fortunate enough to spend the day with Jean Gabriel on a guided wine tour. From the very first moment, Jean Gabriel greeted us with warmth and enthusiasm, making us feel like old friends. His deep passion for wine and knowledge of the region made the experience not just informative, but truly unforgettable. Jean Gabriel took us on a journey through the beautiful Provençal countryside, stopping at several carefully chosen wineries that each offered a unique experience. He explained the intricate process of winemaking and helped us understand how to truly appreciate each wine, from its origins to the art of tasting. We learned so much about the delicate balance of flavors, and Jean Gabriel’s guidance made it all come to life in a way that felt both fun and insightful. The highlight of the day was a gorgeous lunch by the water at a stunning restaurant Jean Gabriel arranged for us. The setting was perfect, with the Mediterranean breeze and exquisite views, complemented by delicious local cuisine that paired beautifully with the wines we had tasted earlier. Overall, Jean Gabriel’s hospitality, knowledge, and attention to detail made this wine tour one of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or a casual enthusiast, this tour is a must-do when in Provence. We can't...

I recently had the pleasure of joining a wine tour with Provence Wine Tours, guided by the exceptional Gabriel, and I cannot recommend it enough. As someone who doesn’t know much about wine, I was a little unsure of what to expect, but Gabriel made the entire experience both educational and enjoyable.

We visited three fantastic wineries, each offering a unique charm and an impressive selection of wines. Gabriel’s knowledge of the local wine region was incredible, and he effortlessly balanced detailed explanations with a friendly, approachable style. He walked us through each tasting, teaching us how to appreciate the flavors and understand the winemaking process without ever making it feel overwhelming.

Thanks to Gabriel, I had the opportunity to taste at least 15 different wines, each one carefully curated to showcase the diversity of Provence wines. His connections with the wineries ensured a warm welcome at every stop, and I ended up buying a bottle at most places because the wines were simply too good to resist.

If you’re looking for a wine tour that is both informative and relaxed, with a guide who genuinely loves sharing his passion for wine, then Provence Wine Tours with Gabriel is a must. Thank you, Gabriel, for an...

To start, my group and I showed up at the wrong pick up location, and the Provence Wine Tour organizers were extremely patient and understanding. I called them on the phone and they were able to organization a pickup for us to ensure we didn't miss the tour.

Our tour guide was an absolutely incredible. This guy was a certified sommelier, and he knew everything there was to know about wine. I mean, I'm talking grape varieties, terroir, and the region's history. He basically turned us into wine nerds in a matter of hours.

What was really interesting was how he clued us into the bigger picture: the impact of climate change on wine production. It was like a wine and climate change crash course. He explained the challenges vineyards face and what they're doing to adapt. Very eye-opening.

He was also a walking, talking wine encyclopedia, answering all our questions, no matter how silly they seemed. Plus, he had a great recommendation for a restaurant to hit up for dinner, and the food and wine pairings were spot on.

I'd jump at the chance to do it all over again, and you should too. Trust me, this tour is a must do when vising the Provence region, and it'll leave you with great memories and a newfound love and appreciation for wine. Cheers...

We paid close to €300 for me to be told repeatedly throughout the day I should smile more. So much so other folks on our tour said it made them uncomfortable also. Our driver/tour guide also made some odd comments toward the other women on our tour but not my experience to share. We booked a tour from Marseille during our honeymoon and all instructions were clear. However, on the way to the first winery our tour guide looked at me in the rear view and said “you, yes you you need to smile more” which made me extremely uncomfortable. Throughout the day he kept making comments about how I was “finally smiling” or need to work on my smiling. It was really just odd. Overall made the experience fine but I think it could’ve been much more enjoyable. The wineries themselves were nice, our guide seemed a bit annoyed we weren’t buying anything to take home but sure this could just be a mistranslation. The best part about the day was our lovely fellow passengers we had lunch together. I think the tour had the potential to be a perfect day trip from your stay in the south of France the distance and wineries were perfect, but maybe with a different tour guide.

I will start by saying that my original tour date was July 2020 but that had to be postponed because of Covid. They were so understanding and issued me a credit voucher to redeem in 18 months. I was thrilled to finally travel to Provence in November 2021, and they made rebooking so easy. Our full day tour of Bandol and Cassis was a dream. We stayed at Hotel Le Pigonnet in Aix-en-Provence and were promptly picked up at 9am by our tour guide, Brice. The hour-long drive to the first winery was so pleasant - Brice shared his knowledge of the region and its wines with us, making the picturesque drive educational as well. Brice knew all of the winemakers well, which made each of our visits feel intimate and personable. We stopped for lunch in Cassis and even got to go down to the shoreline to see the Mediterranean Sea - something that was spontaneous because I mentioned to Brie it was my first time seeing it. It was such a special and kind touch. Brice is also wonderful at taking photos!! Lastly, I was so impressed with how quickly my wine orders arrived - one week from Provence to NYC!
