Das Schloss wird privat von der Familie de Certeau bewohnt, die es seit 2 Jh. besitzt. Es gibt einen Strand direkt links neben dem Schloss. Von diesem kann man das Schloss gut umschwimmen und bewundern.

Das Schloss von Duingt (auch bekannt als Châteauvieux oder Château Ruphy) thront auf einer kleinen felsigen Insel inmitten des Lac d’Annecy und ist ein beliebtes Motiv für Künstler wie Cézanne und inspiriert immer wieder Fotografen durch seine malerische Lage am Seeufer.

Es wurde ursprünglich im 11.–13. Jahrhundert als mittelalterliche Festung errichtet und im 18. / 19. Jahrhundert in eine elegante Wohnresidenz umgewandelt.
