The refurbishment and reopening of the Halles de Béziers is a big disappointment. The previous incarnation didn't know what it wanted to be - a small market or a confusing and uninviting cluster of restaurants and bars with little choice. The opportunity to improve has been missed, and at massive cost. It's now a collection of pastel painted concepts, selling overpriced food - no doubt so licensees can afford the eye-watering rental fees - in a pompous environment. It has nothing to do with celebrating great local produce and the vivacity of the Languedoc region. There's no warmth and conviviality that could and should better represent the area and its producers. A tourist trap attracting the many loud American immigrants you get here now and the ridiculous BCBG crowd that are looking for cheap holiday homes....

Drinks, g&t and an Aperol spritz from Biltoki, which hit the spot! And of course had to try the desserts from the chocolatier! They were chefs kiss! We stumbled across Las Halles De Bezier(Food Hall/Market) by accident we ventured inside and my Fiancee immediately saw a couple having Oysters so we sat down and ordered Prawn, Oysters, Clams and 2 glasses of Wine.
Food and service was exceptional and we highly recommend the Oyster bar, The rest of the Market was nice with butchers, Little bars and restaurants etc.
We really enjoyed the atmosphere and people were very friendly.
