The old tower overseeing the harbor can be reached in a 5 minut walk / climb (park at the foot of the tower near the harbor in Port-en-Bessin) When the tide is low you can walk over the millions of scallop sea shells. The harbor hill itself was stormed in June 44 by the marines, remains of bunkers and trenches are still present. Standing on the hill you have a gorgious view over the village and harbor. Read moreIf you find a small town with a harbor cozy, this is one of the towns to visit. We had no expectations when we arrived, and even though it was a bit rainy, it was such a nice experience. The tidal water was very low, and we could walk on the seabed collecting shells . We were quite baffled. the street by the harbor was filled with shops and stores, and shop owners were friendly and service minded.
