Phare de Biarritz — Attraction in Bayonne

I am not great with heights but climbed the steps slowly and carefully to the top and my gosh was it worth the view. The views are stunning over Biarritz the mountains in the background and the Atlantic ocean across the bay is stunning. Its hight up and you can see for miles on a clear day.

Horrible staff. I can’t believe they didn’t grant us access after me and my pregnant wife waited 2 hours. We booked online and for some reason they couldn’t process the booking. So we asked them to try again the day before but no reply. When we arrived they asked for €5 euros (cash only, which they didn’t mention before) but we didn’t have cash, so I tried to offer something for them to keep as a deposit so we can go and get the cash after our visit, but she refused....

A beautiful place for an easy stroll (or cycle) near the lighthouse. It have fantastic view of Biarritz city and the beaches. The walking path is paved and great for cycling to. For those with the stamina, you can easily walk back to Biarritz city along the neighbourhood. You can take the free electronic shuttle bus from the city to the lighthouse.
