We stayed hier in august 24. Only 4 stars and not 5 because price is too high maybe because of the season, although the design and condition of hotel not suit the price. Lobby and the bar is very dark and both have no design. Our room was completely ok, furniture is new or goodly cared, balcony a bit poor, but have partly see view. Personal is super friendly and caring. Also the house keeping is good. Room was always clean. Luggage and parking service is easy and comfortable. Located very near to the ocean just through the hotel door, but they have no umbrellas or chairs, for that you have to walk till casino and rent it on the beach. Breakfast. Very small buffet, but enough and you can always find something. You can order omelet or fried eggs. Mattresses are very comfortable, pillow somehow not really, i have to use mine. And also its only bathtub, so shower is not barrier free. If it would bee 400-500 € per night it would be 5 stars, but with more then 800 € somehow the building also should be a bit more cared.

As an Accor Hotel member I was in complete disbelief at the state of this hotel. I booked my parents into this hotel not reading reviews before hand given my positive experiences in other Sofitels. The staff are aware of the situation but the price does not reflect this. I would rate this hotel a 1 star. Long dark corridors like something from ‘The Shining’, dated worn furniture, filthy carpets and floors, broken tiles. It’s like the hotel that time/Accor has forgotten. The manager was rude and arrogant ‘do you want to see the other room or not’, no apology, but I gather she is worn out from constant complaints. She changed my parents to a room with a better view but the room was equally as disgusting and dull as the 1st. The location isn’t even good. The barman was nice, that’s the only good thing I have to say!

A sad, poorly appointed Sofitel not worthy of its name. Firstly the staff are amazing, Yan the doorman is a star as are the check in staff but that's where it stops. This place needs to close down or drop the name Sofitel as it is NOT a 5 star hotel. No air con anywhere in the hotel (it's May 30) I was given an old plastic fan and told to open the balcony (smokers right below us), the room is dark, no electrical points, small TV, extremely worn out furniture. The bathroom not much better, smelly old toilet room and awkward bathtub. EVERYTHING IS EXPENSIVE, BUT NOT 5 STARS! At best, this is a 3 star but even then an Ibis would be better. Don't stay at this hotel, it's an absolute disgrace of the Accor group. Shame on its owners.

This was my second trip this year to Sofitel Biarritz. I was there in February and had such a wonderful time.||I returned in April 2025 and confirm that this is certainly one of the best Sofitel around the world.||I have been writing reviews on tripadvisor since 2008. I wrote over 300+ reviews and got 300 000+ views. I have stayed at Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons, Park Hyatt and all sorts of luxury properties around the world. And I stayed in some terrible Sofitel hotels as well, I have to be honest (Lisbonne was probably my worst experience - I do reviews on bad Sofitels too) so I tend to be honest when it comes to Accor's Sofitels, especially as I am not at all a huge fan of their All loyalty program.||But, Sofitel Biarritz deserves every praise I can make.||First of all, the location is prime and it is hard to find an equivalent spot in Biarritz (lots of people here mention the hotel next door but it is a factory compared to the Sofitel's boutique feel).||Second, the staff is OUT OF THIS WOLRD. People at this hotel are kind, welcoming, attentive, efficient, courteous, discreet and engaging. This goes from the doorman, to the concierge, to the SO efficient check-in desk, to the bar, to the restaurant, to the cleaners in the room, to the therapists at the thalasso center. The staff makes it a point to treat customers in the most lovely fashion.||Third, the treatments are the BEST of the Accor's thalasso brand. I tried EACH and EVRY thalasso hotel from Accor. Nothing comes even close to Sofitel Biarritz (and I gave some pretty negative reviews to some of their other brands, like Novotel Le Touquet). Biarritz beats them all. Period. You will not find a better Accor thalasso facility (Sofitel Quibron is my next favorite Accor thalasso hotel but Sofitel Biarritz does a much superior job).||Fourth, the food is excellent at the restaurant when you take the half board like I did. The chef is phenomenal and the ingredients are fresh and tasty. The personnel is so attentive. The breakfast is one of my favorite breakfasts to be available at a hotel around the world (please look at my profile and see how many luxury hotels I visited in the world).||Fifth, although I am not at all fan of the Accor loyalty program (one of the worst in my experience, I have to be honest), this is THE hotel where my loyalty is seen, valued, praised and rewarded. I feel special being a Platinum member at Sofitel Biarritz. Both in February and April, I got upgraded from a luxury partial ocean-view to the BEST two ocean-front rooms in the hotel. That's what I call great customer's loyalty recognition. I always get a very nice gift in my room and a kind note, as well.||Sixth, the rooms are superb. They truly are. Amazing balcony facing the Ocean. Amazing bed. Very comfortable bathroom. Nice products in the shower/bath. Good A/C. ||If you choose Sofitel Biarritz for your stay, you are in for a treat.||I simply cannot wait to go back and will try to do so before the end 2025.||THANK YOU to all the staff at Sofitel Biarritz!||PS: I do not have any commercial affiliation with Sofitel Biarritz and was NEVER asked to post a review on tripadvisor from...

Most staff were unwilling to help with issues, offering no flexibility for checkin or checkout. We arrived to checkin at 12:30 and were told that housekeeping knew we were waiting. 2 hours later the room was still not ready - which would indicate that housekeeping didn't care that we were waiting.

Upon requesting a late checkout, there was absolutely no flexibility at all. Just get out of your room at 12pm. There was no offer of even 30 minutes.

Very very poor room layout. The balcony was overlooked by many houses and steps on the promenade outside. Standing out on the balcony made you a public viewpoint - most passers-by would stare at you as they walked past. In the early morning noisy groups of people would wake you up and you would lie, wondering if they would attempt to climb onto the balcony.

There was absolutely nowhere to plug in a phone/tablet/laptop without crawling on your knees looking for a lamp to unplug. Even the most basic hotel provides bedside plugs, but not this one.

The TV had 3 English language channels. All news. No entertainment without spending another 20 Euros per day to watch films that we had already watched. When questioned, reception said that all channels could be selected with English subtitles - which 2 "experts" could not do when called to the room. As a side note, to get anybody to come to the room took more than one call and almost one hour. This is totally unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed standard.

We were so utterly disappointed with this hotel experience that we will not come back. At checkout we expressed our anger and our breakfasts were given free, however this was all too late. If a customer arrives early and their room is not ready then make all efforts to either give them another room or get their room prepared immediately. There was not even the offer of a complimentary drink at the bar until I "suggested" it. Complete lack of customer care when it...
